Not that I would presume to know anything about her personal life other than what she shares but this screams that it is about Michael and what she was going through when deciding to divorce. So sad, and at the same time, a clear example of great art coming from a place of pain because MAN is this song beautiful, although not as beautiful as she and her performance of it. So purely honest, raw, and real...it's gorgeous, and she and her voice are gorgeous. So much emotion, sooo much talent...

She has said before that she wrote this song while going through a hard time. I assumed it was because of him. She also had a hard time singing this song live, she broke down crying. There are moments in this video where she can’t seem to find the words and she thinks about the meaning
