Almost everything at gap creek has been refurbed - it's all in good shape at the moment.

Had a pedal off camera down Dingo and that has come out so good after the referb + tyres down. Have to get out and explore the rest of the east side.

Just went yesterday. Really awesome trail, the climb back is rough though (esp in the wet). This trail and whipsnake are probably the best black diamonds around brissy. Lorikeet south and wagtail way have also been redone at the gap and they are def worth checking out .

The climb is BRUTAL but great for the lungs, love seeing the progression of the trail around town.

Pipeline looks sweet! Cheers for showing it, I'll be out there asap to check it out before it gets torn up.
Bike suggestion: Canyon spectral. 160/150 travel, 64° head tube trail bike. Hands down, best bike you can get for the money and really all you need for our area anyway. I looked at pretty much every other brand while researching and couldn't find anything better value. Heaps of different spec models as well depending on how baller you wanna go. Absolutely love mine, no complaints whatsoever

Hope you enjoy it Blake! I've known a few people that rave about the Spectral, on paper it sounds like a great bike. Especially when you are talking about value town. Added to the list!

I really enjoyed watching the video after riding Pipeline yesterday 🙂
As an advanced beginner that has memories from the 'late '50s, I loved this trail and thought the wall berm was so cool, but that drop off soon after it came up a bit fast with me not carrying as much speed for it as I would have preferred, but tightened my butt cheeks and launched it anyway (didn't even hit my arse on the back wheel like I did on the Westys drop LOL).
I found a couple of those tight corners around the bottom of Elevator quite testing, but at least it is not as steep as the fire trails.

I feel the same way on the Elevator switchies, especially on a XL frame! I've seen a few other TH-camrs hit that little drop at the end and they all have a surprised (and expletive) reaction afterwards. Such a good feeling having trails like this so close to Brisbane though.

I sure would have preferred that drop where the smaller log drop is a few metre before it, but I guess a 'Black Trail' is supposed to have a couple of features that us gumbies spin out a little bit @@BicycleCurious LOL
Just like the 2nd left hander on Westys that I do not feel comfortable going off the drop part way around, but just try to relax and do it anyway :-)
I find some of the switchbacks near the bottom of Elevator challenging, although i do have a small framed T7 which might be good for that sort of thing (shrugs)

Nice one Aiden …. I was hoping the 2nd run down you were going to clear all the big jumps 😊 … that little drop on a left rocky lead in looks a bit sketchy 🤙🏼

Cheers Mr DM, look it takes me a while to get comfy on stuff in the air so I'll get them on a future visit for sure. I've been hearing online that I'm not the only one getting caught up on that little drop at the end as well!

Should ride right side of hennessey mate, another great black flow trail.. Pipeline looks pretty sweet tho, much as I'd like to ride it, I don't think I've got that climb in me haha

It will happen soon, been on my list for a few months now. Can always do by thing around the b-lines if I'm not feeling comfy.

its a great line but the climb back up is terrible, espically if you dont get dropped off at the top

Great vid. I saw this last night and went today. The trail is much improved compared to when I last went, and runs very fast. Great jumps too. Something for everyone. As for what bike...I had the same Fuel Ex as you use in this video - EX7 I think. I updated to a Fuel 9.8GX (Gen 5) and its been great - slacker and better suspension. Now there's a Gen6 Fuel that gets rave reviews. Better suspension again and even slacker. It would be my pick based on this review from PinkBike - happy new bike day! th-cam.com/video/vXJRr0tWyWA/w-d-xo.html 🚲

So much faster now but still has that old school vibe of legacy Gap Creek. I've actually spent some time on the new gen Fuel range and I'm a fan! Whether or not I will land on ANOT HER Trek or not is another question, variety is the spice of life after all. Regardless, amazing bikes and a huge separation from the traditional offering in the previous Fuel generations.

It's all pretty good at Gap Creek, but I completely hate that everything is flow now. I *HATE* flow trails. They're a shit to climb, they flatter you into thinking you're a better rider than you are, as they don't feel all that challenging.
Conversely, I also hate all the jumps they've added. Us mediocre riders would prefer them not to be there.
    Bring back tech and chunk.
    Rant over.
