As great as an electric bass player he is, and for him it's like a toy, it's his acoustic bass playing that is of historical proportions. In fact, he is so head and shoulders above the rest that his bass deserves to be placed in The Smithsonian Institute as a historical artifact. Seeing and listening to him play his upright bass is always a real treat, and his bowing is superlative.
magnifique solo de contrebasse! tant de maitrise et de feeling, et le public n applaudit pas à chaque enchainement de triple croches, il reste bouche bée et écoute l instant ..
Love the in-your-face sound of 70s live concerts! Too much of the modern stuff is too awash in effects, big and boomy. Things just get lost, I hear every single thing these guys are playing. Yeah, sometimes there is some red light distortion, but I like that too 😃 Damn! This band is killin' it!
I was there that night with my girlfriend waiting nearby in a cheap hostel because we lost our tickets in Madrid someone lifted them out of my pocket. So I broke into the casino. That's the separate story.

Does anyone have the audio for this in FLAC?
It was my understanding Stanley cut his performance and sound check for the Montreux Summit All Star Band.
I was there that night with my girlfriend waiting nearby in a cheap hostel because we lost our tickets in Madrid someone lifted them out of my pocket. So I broke into the casino. That's the separate story.
Lips horn section
excuse my stupid question but whos play the root bass on quiet afternoon?
ryder on drums
Gerry Brown - drums, Ray Gomez - guitar. Any idea of any other personnel?
Did you actually watch it. After the first number Stanley literally introduces whole band lol
Whenever I see Stanley with this hairstyle, I can't help but think of this sketch from "In Living Color".. th-cam.com/video/k-wa9mMsFvE/w-d-xo.html
JERRY BROWN DUMMER !
