@@matthewryan4844CONUNDRUM was a conundrum in the Grand Final of Series 1 in 1982, and that’s how the name stuck. Before then, the last round didn’t have a name as such.
I: Anything on that one at all??? dahorn probably got the closest I could think of. Yeah, when it needs the commercial even for the board to get it, that's saying something! II: Thought I had that one til I realized the math was wrong. III: Simple one, got it as both contestants did. IV: Again, mathed it wrong (used the 10 twice).
i heckin love colin murray
He's just easy to like, isn't he?
He makes the show so cosy!
I loved the double conundrum at the end! :D
If my mental math checks out, you can also get 970 by multiplying the 4, the 6, the 5, and the 8 to get 960, then adding on the 10.
Countdown as a conundrum 😂😂
I'm waiting for INCORRECT being the conundrum ...
A respotted black for John Virgo's last episode, how fitting
Well said mate
848....75x5 = 375
7x7 =49
49 +375 = 424
424 x 2 = 848
Clever
I once stood behind John Virgo in the queue for the till at Pwllheli Woolworths
A triple crucial countdown conundrum would have been interesting.
I got 970 by doing 8 x 6 x 4 x 5 = 960 + 10
Same kept the 3 and 10 and tried to make 1000 but didn't need the 3 in end
I managed 850 on the first one.
(75+7+2+1)*2*5 gives 850.
Used all the numbers but not quite close enough
For the last one I did it the same as Rachel, but visualised it as
8 × 4 = 32
32 × 3 = 96
As was looking for something near 30 to times by 3
no joke Richard Hillier was my history teacher
433=2×3×75-10-7=5×(75+10)+7+3-2
richard hillier is my teacher🤞
bro same, he was my history teacher
Plus this is his second appearance on the show also. Last time was 2012.
@@jamesrobert994 WHAT 😭😭
Could not figure out the first one, but happy with an 847 in the time.
(7-1)x2=12
75-5=70
70x12=840
840+7=847
i got the 970 with
3*4 = 12
add 8 = 20
times 10 for 200
minus 6 for 194
times the final 5 for 970
So they actually did it. Was that the first time?
Now im wondering if theyve ever had conundrum as the conundrum

@@mclarenguy22 ah, thanks!
WHERES THE CUE BALL GOING

IV: Again, mathed it wrong (used the 10 twice).
8 - 3 = 5 x 4 x 10 = 200 - 6 = 194 x 5 = 970
75*5 = 375 + (7x7) = 424 x 2 = 848
Completely missed the first 3 then I nail 970
8x3=24
24x4=96
6-5=1
1+96=97
97x10=970
7 squared is 49
5x4x6x8 = 960 + 10 = 970 😘
49-1=48.
I have got 847 so not bang but very close.
75 +2 = 77
5+7=12
12-1=11
11*77= 847
