I saw another video of two houses done at this location. They said the house that literally disintegrated was because of the winds applied. 95mph. But it was obvious that since they were not actually sitting on any type of foundation that the house that fell down simply began to slide across the floor before the back of the structure (away from the wind) failed structurally and caused the collapse. Not really a great experiment in my book.
They also, had them side by side. Sandwiched together. Seems like it created a wind tunnel or vortex of wind between the two homes, in that particular video, and found a weak point in the home on the left. Blowing it's siding and roof off.
You have to be kidding! After they cut the straps, then the siding blew off? Then the windows blew out? This only shows that the straps played NO PART in this test.
ok... so they tested a crapy conventionally built house... now lets see them try to even make a dent in a Monolithic Dome house... i want to see them try to even move a Monolithic dome with just the power of the wind... i would love to see them try to put holes in a Monolithic dome with one of those air cannons that shoot debris, especially a dome that has an extra three to four inches of "chain shell" reinforcing over its air form... in fact, if you want, just look up Monolithic Domes Institute
If it where a block or brick construction. It would be far better. Siding is crap. New construction homes are kinda built like Old Mobile homes...only they have a foundation. Remember. Wind needs to find a place in the siding, roof or under the home (if it's not directly in a foundation). Main components, other than debirs...that cause structure failure or roofing blown off a bit.
the house isnt attached to an actual foundation though??? and there are no load bearing walls like different rooms in the house??? how is this an actual experiment??
Prob yeah great idea ... mhm But.. I don't think Concrete price were really reasonable just for house construction.. as they thought that Wood is more effective, efficient, cheaper, and affordable..
