The idea of someone's mood when watching stand up going from euphoric and then slowly devolving into indignant disgust and eventually rage is pretty hilarious.
This would make a great "I Think You Should Leave" sketch, sounds like a perfect character for Tim Robinson.
You would probably get a huge kick out the Neil Hamburger record Hot February Night. The audience's rage is deafening. He's opening for Tenacious D.

I am the same about stand up. Comedic actors and sketch comedy got my attention. BUT as I got older, Maria Bamford actually inspired me to start writing to try open mics.

I have ADHD so watching standup feels like a commitment compared to more engaging performance art, it has to be someone I already love from other things. I guess most people are the same though really, ain't no Carlin, Pryor or Martin anymore who were mega famous before they had some TV or movie role.
I saw her perform at the Punchline in SF and she crushed it. Absolutely killed, one of the funniest comics I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of the greats. Total respect.
Comedy is subjective. She's not funny.

How crazy I was literally watching an episode of Brooklyn 99 with Chelsea's character as the main story, the episode ends and I go to TH-cam and watch an interview of her with Conan XD
I haven't heard of her before but she's good.
I think she carried the series Brooklyn 99. That was a silly show 2 out of 10 jokes was very funny ,but Gina Chelsea 'character was hilarious every time.
I saw Chelsea do stand-up in Raleigh years ago and she killed. She teased me about how I laughed and got some good crowd work out of it.
Not surprising - have seen a few interviews - I bet her crowd work was excellent.
Shes good in anything, very talented.

Stand-up is an art form that has outlasted many of the other comedic mediums including sketch, late night and improv as it’s the purest one. But of course just like anything else in life stand up is not for everyone.

I can see where shes coming from. Maybe its me, but stand up comics have become preacher-esque... just spouting their sermon to the same congregation they acquired over the years. Its just very meh these days.
Look up Shane Gillis and Mark Normand. Their styles are not preachy, all about laughs. Also a good storyteller comedian is Mike Birbiglia.

stand up comedians talk more about them being stand up comedians than anything else
It's obsolete. Used to be you HAD to watch stand-up if you wanted fresh adult humor - TV standards were too tame. It was half the reason people bought HBO. Now I can go to TH-cam and watch any kind of comedy I want to, for free, without paying a fortune.
