You don't need both Robin's E1 or S1, or either actually. I tested with Planetary (lo and behold it did the same because it's the same DMG% value) and Meshing Cogs, and Cogs performed slightly slower by 1 cycle although I think it's because I missed a Crit on the first wave which didn't let me 0 cycle it but I'm too lazy to go back and do it. Aventurine hypercarry is frustrating entirely because of Ruan Mei. Two of her biggest strengths are Aventurine's nightmare on his own: toughness break efficiency increase and extended weakness duration. These parts of her kit prevent him from triggering his FUA, so it's just lost damage. I tried Tingyun and she performed about the same. I was gonna use Robin with Aventurine but then it'd just turn into a Robin pilot showcase, not an Aventurine one.

After doing a quick test on the 2.1 MOC, without the energy buff that makes Robin absurdly more powerful than she already pretty much is, I will say Robin is better (I did 2 cycles with E0S1 Robin before and I was struggling to get there just now with my E1S1 Sparkle in place of her). However, using Robin with Argenti means Huohuo is required to make her rotations consistent. Or a fast Gallagher with QPQ, or Aventurine with his FUA's.

Yes he can clear without her. His performance without her is roughly the same as any other carry who benefits greatly from Huohuo, which is about 1-2 cycles worse.
Yes because her best planar is Penacony, which boosts both their damage. Her action advance lets Tingyun and Argenti build up more energy to get more ults off.
