I knew she had a nice rack, but wow! The support looks great and having them slightly separated is just icing on the cake. I bet they look better in person, I hope to get my hands on a set like that sometime soon. I’m not sure if I’ll go with black ones, I thought they looked better bare. Ok, I’m done. Happy fish keeping everybody!
I’ve been so busy at work since this shut down, I finally had some time to watch, great video Brother, I really appreciate you all putting out content, great stress reliever, stay safe and healthy.
Gotta have that Jig thing! Class act, sanding everything down after assembly😁 kitchen is a good place for fish tanks. 1 here. The Mollies watch me wash dishes. They have become very friendly.💜
Thanks for mentioning Nova Tropicals. Never heard of that store. Definitely gonna have e to make a run out there and check it out soon. Love the vids and miss your store.
I used bright white LED rope lighting on my racks turned out great and was super easy to install right thru the cross members on the racks. Also nice and water proof!
Those stands look really cool! I love the stagger look. My only concern is the legs getting kicked out possibly?. I noticed there is no bottom bracing like a lot of stands have.
Last week I picked up a tank from Petco at their dollar-a-gallon sale. Then I got an unexpected call about a free 29 complete setup so the quarantine has been full of fish activities at my house.
Thank you for this! I'm about to convert my garage into my ever first fish room 😁 now I need to watch a video regarding filtration and water change system
Wow what a project, already looks great , running them on air , hope you find a quieter pump than mine , so I went to a power head , definitely quieter but the flow was to much and it was a small power head..Yes you’ve guessed it I’m a beginner but loving the hobby..Can’t wait to see the follow up on your progress.🇺🇸🇬🇧
Lowe's has some nice long cheap led lights that work great for plants. I worked in a mom and pop shop and that's what we used and they worked great. We just mounted them with little hooks under the stands and hung them from the tops. Just a idea :).
I am so happy to find a video of yours in my email in box! The quarantine makes me feel so cut off, I enjoy seeing you two! I always worry that whatever rack or stand won't be strong enough to hold a tank. One 10-gallon is one thing, but how do you figure out that all of those tanks will not be too heavy? They look AMAZING, BTW!!!
I guess we were doing about the same thing during these nice warm days. Too bad it is cold today. I built a shelf I could put two ten gallon aquariums on along with some nice house plants (probably some ferns and a couple of bonsai trees) and made some support for a desk so I could put my 29 gallon on it. They will all be on one side of my room. Building my own custom light stand too, so the light will not be shining at me, and only at the tanks and plants on this 6 foot long shelf I created.
I would strongly consider a runner board across the bottom of the legs. The issue is if there is a lateral force applied, like if someone tripped into it, that whichever leg has the most friction will take most of the momentum, and could very well snap, and then ofc just domino from there. If you have a runner board, the issue as negated and it will even out stress/momentum across the whole base.
Looks great. I don't know the expense involved but I want to build a heavy duty hanging shelf that can support a trough-like aquarium that's divided several times and turn it into a slow moving river system for multiple bettas. They only thing I'm hung up on is filtration; making sure there's enough in the middle sections and not too much on the ends.
You already know I was watching it too and I saw this notification🤣🤣. Perfect opportunity to stop watching Tiger King for a minute.. I've been actually watching his Joe exotic TV show 🤣😁♥️ thanks for some more great tips!
Great timing! Hubby and I were just talking about building a rack but only 2 wide. Looks great! Do you have a link for the tool you used to hide the screws?
John, you and your mystery helper did a very nice job on Lisa's 10 gallon racks. Where would you suggest me purchasing two pair or 2:4 of Gold Lamprologos Ocellatus for my 20 gallon long or 29 gallon project with my granddaughter. Thank you. Ken
Nice Racks! Been working on one for a 60 gallon using 2x4's. What's a good tip to avoid twisted lumber. Had a couple of twisted ones that messed up the frame. In that the frame wouldn't sit flat but would rock back and forth.
John... thank you for this and all of your video's. I am new to the hobby and came across a deal I could not pass up but I also know that I need to ease into it. I just purchased 4 twenty gallon long and 14 10 gallon tanks all brand new from a gentleman who was planning on setting up a fish room for breeding. As I was just furloughed from work today I have some time to built the racks.... one to start with. My question is concerning the sponge filters from Aquarium co-op which I am intending to purchase as well....do you believe the Nano or Small is the best for the 10 gallon tanks. My other question is concerning the air pump as I hope to purchase 1 pump to run the 6 tanks on the initial rack but would like it to be able to handle the addition of a second set of 6 in the future. I am sure this information will be coming up in future videos but any help would be appreciated as I am in the planning stage and hope to make some decisions soon. PS: This is all Cory's fault as I watched his video about buying tanks on Craig's list.
I'm thinking of getting a 200 gallon or bigger predator tank in the future I was thinking of what kind of fish I want for it and I thought jadini arawana, water cow goby, and ornate bichir. What else would you recommend? Love the vids keep it up!
They look really good. IMHO wood glue and a brad nailer would have been faster, stronger and cost less, but I know you're a furniture guy so that's probably heresy.

Ha ha sounds like you've been putting a lot of thought into that comment, well done my friend!
My school got cancelled so I decided to redo my aquarium. My dad is helping me do it and it looks sick. Btw amazing content
I really like how they are staggered so you can access the entire tank. Nice job!!!
I’ve been so busy at work since this shut down, I finally had some time to watch, great video Brother, I really appreciate you all putting out content, great stress reliever, stay safe and healthy.
RENO!!! Missed this boy. Love the racks, so much space for new tanks. Still wanna send Lisa some specialty shrimp for a new tank...
Gotta have that Jig thing! Class act, sanding everything down after assembly😁 kitchen is a good place for fish tanks. 1 here. The Mollies watch me wash dishes. They have become very friendly.💜
Love your use of pocket hole fasteners.
this will be fish heaven for Lisa! Great job, John.
Actually, I LOVE all your video's! Much love from Texas
They look great!
Thanks for sharing , can't wait to the full set up when it's all done.
Thank you John Lisa's rack looks amazing 😂😂😂
Thanks for the ideas I have 5qty 10 gallon tanks this will give me a consolidated space for them plus room to expand

Thanks guys!! I was needing to start this.
I love this stand sooo much I want one myself. I need to rewatch to see if you stated the measurements lol
Looks great! I need my hubby to build me a “great rack” just like this (LOL)
Love how you built the racks , I'm actually getting ready to build a stand for a 75 myself..... Love the videos
The racks look awesome, nice clean look.
I actually really liked the stand and I actually liked the whole video and I can’t wait for the 75 gallon
I see the foreman watching to make sure it gets done right 😉👍✌️✌️

Looks great! Can’t wait to see the tanks in place!!

This will make such a great room divider showcase!!!
Looking good guys.. cant wate to see the final look of it all..
Yeah we are all sitting around watching TV. BUT in this case quality TV. Nice show John on how to handle a nice rack
Your too good🙌🏾💯 I need one of those racks made John Wall can pick them up for me 🤣🤣🤣🙌🏾🙌🏾

Already looking amazing 🤓
Those look awesome! Love it 👊🏻👍🏻👊🏻
It looks amazing, can't wait to see the other tanks.
Those look fantastic!
Really neat multiple tank rack 👍
Inspired.. thankyou!
Very inspirational video. We have to ad 16x 10g`s in the fish room. Now I am questioning can we ad more in the same space? lol
Beautiful job.....that Jig is a life changer lol
That looks so great!! I love the step look.

Love the black and yellow tools. Dewalt and stanley
G’day mate THATS going to look awesome and I actually can’t wait till it’s finished.. where is your stuff going on the other side.
Bwahaha. That's my son doubling up on the tech at once. That was a good one buddy. 😂😁

Actually this was a good video, thanks guys
Very good 🖒
I wish I had more wood to build a few nice stands
Great Project, Really wish I had the time man...Some day when I get my 10th tank I'll figure it out lol
Nice stands!!!
Actually, a great video. Can't believe I'm just now seeing this.
You already know I was watching it too and I saw this notification🤣🤣. Perfect opportunity to stop watching Tiger King for a minute.. I've been actually watching his Joe exotic TV show 🤣😁♥️ thanks for some more great tips!
Very nice Mr John...
Awesome job
VERY inspiring project! How can you see new tank space for 12 10 gallons and make a mental list of the projects you have going? 👍
Great build👍👍👍👍
good video
Great timing! Hubby and I were just talking about building a rack but only 2 wide. Looks great! Do you have a link for the tool you used to hide the screws?
Hi John. When will you have time to hang Lisa’s painting up? (The pink and black one in her background). 🤭
I love it your videos
Dude this opening is nice
That’s looks amazing!
You have so many tanks, do you ever forget about some of them sometimes?
John, ever try those wire shelving units for smaller tanks?
John, you and your mystery helper did a very nice job on Lisa's 10 gallon racks. Where would you suggest me purchasing two pair or 2:4 of Gold Lamprologos Ocellatus for my 20 gallon long or 29 gallon project with my granddaughter. Thank you. Ken
Thank you
Love your house
You can't bamboozle us like that! Come on, John. Runny nose Tetra? They're already under water! It's not possible! That 10g rack is AWESOME
I'm able get pallets from work. They're in good shape. Do you think the 1x4s would work for a similar 29g set up?
nice stands
very nice💕👍
🔥🔥 Dope racks! 🔥🔥 Great Job 👍
3:08 *Swarm of bees flashback*
Great video, exciting stuff, be careful though, Goldfish can eat minnows like popcorn, usually during the night when they're in sleep mode

Awesome!!!!
Is that 1'x2/3" lumber for the 10's support instead of 2"x4"?
Also what flooring base are these set on? (Ie: concrete slab, joist with plywood or composite sub flooring)
MBUNA!???😁
Wow.. 1x4's. What do you think the maximum size tank/weight would be? Turned out great! Can't wait to see the whole ensemble!
John... thank you for this and all of your video's. I am new to the hobby and came across a deal I could not pass up but I also know that I need to ease into it. Would you please be able to post the dimensions of the stand I’d love to build the exact same stand to use as breeding racks in my garage.
You can buy a big filter and it control the 6 Aquarium, And you can buy a big heater and it controls all the Aquarium.
What kind of lumber did you use? What are the specs?
I own a premium rose petal betta with a gold mystery snail in a 3.5 gallon
Which type of wood is best for building tank stands?
How do the pocket screws stand up over time? For the lighting , I’ve been using cheap led flood lights with good luck .
Pocket holes are one of the strongest joiner methods. Almost all cabinetry uses them, think of all your kitchen cabinets most likely uses pocket holes
nice vdo

This might be a dumb question, but they don't need something under the tank to support it? Besides the structure I mean.
For your tank are you going to make a manly rack? Haha loved the videos.
Did you use 1”x2” lumber for the construction of this?
What kind of wood did you use for the racks?
They look really good. IMHO wood glue and a brad nailer would have been faster, stronger and cost less, but I know you're a furniture guy so that's probably heresy.
what size air pump do you use to run multiple sponge filters
I’d like to know the dimensions of each 2x4 plank to make one like it if possible.
