🟡 Two extremely lousy pilots. Period. Okay, they messed it up because they did it for the clicks and a couple of thousand bucks. And that's the reason why they are lousy pilots. They are totally unprofessional. The two hot shots are proud enough to show us how stupid the are (sorry, guys) : BFD. And why the .... would you do something like that, jumping out of a perfectly working airplane? Are you bored oder just ... slow? IMHO you guys are lousy "pilots", indeed. Something not enough people are talking about. Losing his grip on the wing spar, even just a little too much momentum could have carried him forward into the spinning propellor, and this would have been a much more tragic occurrence.

It's tough enough to watch for all the planes flying horizontally let alone people and things falling vertically in this airspace though the jump planes do announce when a jump is in progress. Also despite what has been written about the area being remote, this area has several ranches, farms, a prison, and a few subdivisions near the Eloy airport. The pilots had parachutes. The planes had tons of engineering done on their chute systems and speedbrakes. Tons of money and planning went into making this happen, money that supported the American economy. I have no doubts that their safety plan passed the insurance underwriters scrutiny. The FAA had no place to block this while any fool can fly up to 17,500' in a paramotor without a single lesson or understanding of airspace.

    From a former airline pilot
....since the FAA refused their waiver, I'm very curious if enforcement action will be taken.
    If so,
if it means license suspension, or even revocation.
As was the just FAA recent decision for the now former pilot who jumped out of a perfectly operational aircraft
He juuust happened to have multiple cameras installed,
juuust happened to post the event on social media,
    and lastly,
juuust happened to destroy evidence at the crash site.

Wilful non compliance of the regulations. Pilots should always be bound by rules & regulations in the interest of public safety. I find it incomprehensible how people would consciously disregard regulators for the sake of video likes & channel subscriptions. Especially as mentioned above that the FAA has continually denied the waiver to do this stunt.
My advice to aspiring pilots would be to stick to videos that help you get & most importantly retain your license. No stunt will ever be worth losing your license over. We already have so many possible stumbling blocks that we hurdle to continually practice the privileges of our license.

I don’t understand what the big deal is just so long as they were doing this over an unpopulated area, such as but not limited to the middle of the desert. I mean, at the end of the day, it is the life of the two pilots and the two airplanes that they are risking. As long as it is that and only those 4 things being at risk then “no harm no fowl”, as far as I’m concerned.

Note to other pilots and stuntmen: Stunts like this should ALWAYS be performed where the Sacramento FSDO has jurisdiction. They don’t care, and they won’t care. You don’t even need a medical to commercially fly in Sacramento. You don’t even need an operating certificate to operate. The Sacramento FAA won’t investigate, they won’t follow through. So that whole Red Bull wing thing is selective at best? All joking aside, that took guts and I’m really happy it was all good. Better luck next time.

You can look forward to both these pilots having their licenses revoked. FAA denied them permission.

I've always dreamed of owning an airplane but can never afford it. If you're going to pull a stunt like this and ruin a perfectly good airplane, just give the plane to me!

I'd like to see the elevator position while the brake was out. The brake would cause a huge pitch down moment that would be difficult to counteract. I only fly RC planes and could tell you this wouldn't work.

Hope they enjoyed that flight because that will be their last one. Pretty stupid from numerous perspectives, and yes, they did do this after the FAA denied their request. Trevor Jacobs just lost his license for his stunt and hopefully these two are next. I would hope there are some criminal charges that can and will be brought against those involved.
