In 2006 zidane came out of retirement to play for france in world cup. He announced his retirement from all formats. So he played his final game for country not club.
Kroos had done the same thing. Kroos will play his final game for Germany after coming out of international retirement.
Ironically 2006 world cup was played in Germany and euro 24 is also in Germany.
Which points to one coincidence both zidane and kroos final game will be in Olympiastadion Berlin if Germany goes to final…

Toni Kroos is as good as Beckenbauer and Matthäus. The 3 best german football players of all time. Neuer as a goalie and gerd müller as a striker were nearly as great

Well, Kroos is a great player, but there is no need to say "the best German player in the history of RM" since there have been some really good and important German players at RM since Netzer onwards. I particularly remember Stielike, who was the soul of the team during the first half of the eighties, but there were also Breitner, Schuster, Illgner...

In terms of sheer quality, Schuster was, no doubt, the best German player in the history of RM (and probably in history), and regarding the importance for the team, Stielike was more important. Without him, probably the team would have collapsed like a house of cards.

@@robert111k The early 80s might have been your prime. Of course, Schuster was one of the greatest players of german football history but Kroos plays nearly perfect since 10, maybe 15 years. Stielike must be a joke. Good player, but nowhere near Schuster or Kroos

A team very scarce in quality (they called it "the Madrid of the Garcías") that won several LaLigas and reached a Coupe D'Europe final. Kroos has been a magnificent player among some seven or eight other magnificent players. Stielike held RM almost alone.
