Fixing the DR Error - Simple Steps to Clean Out a Bosch Ductless Convection Dryer

- Bosch's ductless clothes dryers are amazing things - very efficient and ventless, meaning you can put them pretty much anywhere as long as you can get water to them and drain from them. We used these in our entryway "laundry nook" to remove the need to go down 4 flights of stairs every time we needed to do a wash.
The ductless system works by passing the warm moist air through a condensor and then draining that water out via a pump. The now-dry hot air is then recycled into the unit making it incredibly efficient to run.All that being said, that efficiency comes with a cost and there is some maintenance needed to keep them running well.
One of these common maintenance issues reveals itself by the Dryer stopping part way through a cycle with the message "DR" on the screen, leaving you with wet clothes. This happens because the dryer is unable to drain away the water that is being removed from the clothes. In some cases this is caused by a kinked drain hose or bad pump, but most often this is caused by lint plugging up the pump intake - which you can absolutely clean out yourself. It's cramped quarters but doable with a towel and a thin flat screwdriver.

Excellent video - thank you - this was driving us nuts!
Us too! Happy that it helped!
I had the DR code and was aware of cleaning the condenser unit but not the sump pump area. Worked like a charm and saved me a technician call out. Many Thanks!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much I have been trying to figure this out for a little over a year. I did this today and my dryer is running smooth.
Excellent! Agreed it’s super annoying when this happens. Took me a long time to find the right solution - depending on use it lasts about 6-12mo and then you have to clean out again.
If you can keep the area around the lint trap clean to prevent as much blow by as possible you can extend that longer
