I was taught your method by the previous owner of my van. I save this video for use year after year. I also remove the fuse to my water pump..just to avoid accidentally turning it on when the system is dry, and disconnect the hot water heater from power…same reason.

Bosch does not recommend filling your water tank with RV Antifreeze (just potable water). Any chances of the anti-freeze damaging the water heater anode? I know this video is a couple of years old - so it would be great to hear of any long-term effects?

We haven’t had any issues with the antifreeze. We have, however, had one ruined from freezing. I’ll take my chances with the antifreeze, considering the alternative.

Thank you for this very helpful video. You suggest removing the undersink water filter. How do you then run the antifreeze solution through the faucet? How does it not spill out of the filter connections?

Just curious as to what benefits this method has over just pouring the anti-freeze directly into the fresh water tank and then running all the faucets.

You can definitely do it that way. It’s easier to flush the antifreeze out of the system if it’s only in the lines.

No. Only if it’s sitting.
