Thanks for this long review. You put a lot of effort in this video and it pays off- hopefully. I own three Ironhearts in my homestudio. the IRT Studio (aniv.Ed. with red Front) to a 112IRT Cab miced with Lewitt MTP440DM, my IRT-60H (changed Powertubes to EL34) on a Hesu 212 Studio miced with Behringer B906 and the IRT combo (30W) often paired with the closed 112IRT Cab. Although i have a Driftwood nightmare-mini on top of the 60W laney head, the Ironhearts are still my favourite go-to Amps for practice and recording. Can also tell that i had long time trouble with the real Laney IRT-60H and it went two times to laney UK for repair and in the end, it had to be replaced by Thomann for a brand new amphead with different SerNr. I also had to change two preamp tubes on this new one within two years and now it's as fine as the "IRT studio"..If one only needs the beloved Ironheart-sound, but does not want to take care of this kind of hardware (valves are not cheap today..) the plug-in may be a good option to go for. nice rockin' greets from Bavaria/Germany
You're certainly the fan of them! I'm glad mine has been solid for years. Got it lightly used from a shop and only thing I've ever done is swap out V1 when it gets old and about a year ago replaced the power tubes for the first time ever when they started acting up. The smaller amps are cheaper to maintain too! I think a pair of EL84s was only $30
Man these are close. Not the EQ behavior, but the overall Laney thing is there. Glad the plug has more bass though haha. I suspect the bigger amp would have a rounder low end. Awesome intro track btw.
@@NickLeonard Too harsh and static. Doesn't sound like a real cab sound. Try a different impulse. I had the Laney Ironheart 60 and it didn't sound like the distortion, it sounds a lot like a transistor plugin, I think it sounds strange. Other plugins like audio assault or neural DSP are better. The cabs are the bottleneck.

Damn they sound identical 😮
Cool tones! Couldn't you just run the dry signal from USB out and run that through the amp sim?
You can, but I find it easier to use the XLR out, that's going to just the cab section of the plugin
The cab Simulator is terrible!!!
@@daviddurden8391 why?
