That crowd was incredible. I've been to a few other games at Eden Park (not this one unfortunately) and as a South African I've always been surprised at how subdued the Kiwi crowd can be. This is more like it!

Sucks this was the last international rugby game before COVID F**ked everything up.
That's what they blamed........but while rugby and every other sport started playing international games, only league remained in lockdown.
With this many island/kiwi born players in the NRL learning from the best, it was only a matter of time before the Aussies were going to lose their "invincibility" tag.
To be the best, you gotta beat the best.... and Aussies are such sore losers.

My favourite game of league EVER 🥳 I met all the Tonga players before last year's WC when Woolf brought them to inspire our Primary RL team!

I remember watching this in real life at Mt Eden Park, my uncle recorded the winning try by TPJ and everyone went crazy! Really is a time I will never forget in my life.

Hope Tonga can keep together for 2023 World Cup. Will make the competition very interesting. England would struggle at the Moment against them. A lot of power and pace and a good physicality ,the fundamentals necessary for RL success.
Of the big 3 England is the only nation that Tonga has never beaten.

Meanwhile Samoa and the other islands were just stuck in the same mindset of versing each other and sticking to “Oh as long as we beat Tonga” fuelling ancestral hate - Tonga weren’t thinking of that at all.
