I hope this ends up as a trilogy, with the sequel being called Thank Goodness You’re Back, and the final instalment Thank Goodness You’re Done.
The sequel needs to be "Oh no, not you again" for the true Northern feel
1: Thank goodness you’re here!
2: Oh, look who’s back!
3: Don’t let the door hit you on the arse on your way out.
@@Binerexis where you cause trouble instead of helping
🤣 that last one got me good I'm actually laughing right now @@thomaspeacock9375
"You play as an entirely unnamed yellow man." SOLD
I heard Matt Berry was in this and that makes it an instant buy no matter what.
I was already going to get this game, but now I'm going to get it just as soon as I can crawl out of this heatwave coma!
He was in Book of Boba Fett?
@@sparkypack he was! I don't remember the name of it but he was a droid. O ly had a few lines.
Galacticare has a relatively competent Matt Berry imitator in it, just saying.
FATTTTTHHHEERRRRRR!!!!
Thank goodness it's a review written by Alex.
Yet they still insist on using the first person plural in reviews. It’s insufferable.
Alexfromnintendolifeheeere
@thomasbalzer3179 it's possible that while reviews are written by one person, multiple people are involved in the actual review process. Or it's just a way to focus on the nintendo life brand instead of just a single person.

"Price Shaggers" "Stop the Stigma Shit Anywhere" and "Liminal spaces may be less engaging than they appear" Oh yes. I think I will enjoy this thoroughly lol
I really dig this art style.
They really nailed the style it feels like actually playing a cartoon, only other game like this I know is Cuphead
South Park Games maybe?
"Lost in Play" also comes to mind.
@@bbloomfield6497 What more games u know that is a cartoon? Aside from sword of dito and cartoon network battlecrasher?

Hello there, Alex from Nintendo Life.
Oh my goodness me.
This is the game Alex has been waiting to review his entire life.
Probably right at home for most brits
It's like a mixture of Wallace & Gromit, The League of Gentlemen and an old Mr Scruff video called Sweetsmoke
As someone from Yorkshire, I feel almost obliged to play this 😂 dunno if I’ve ever seen a game set here
Me too.. I’ve almost given up on “GTA Goole” ever being released at this point
@@benironside1264 I’ll never stop believing
I've been keeping an eye out for this ever since it was announced, and Alex was the perfect person to review this one. This is humour that has been missing from interactive media for quite some time now, and I hope it's success sparks a resurgence of it.
Definitely getting this, it looks unique and funny plus there’s not enough games set in the UK. Matt Berry, even if it’s a small part, is just the icing on the cake.
Just thought, how amazing it would be if we had a League of Gentlemen game done in this style, I’d love to explore Royston Vasey and meet all its characters.
They should bring co-op to a sequel and color him pink so we can do Pink and Yellow
LOVE the Cartoon-like Animation: Thank goodness you're here Nintendo Life! 😊❤
As I'm from Yorkshire I felt obliged to buy this game and was not disappointed. I can vouch that some of the humour and wit contained in this game, across some points of my nearly 40 years, reasonably accurate!
Oh thank goodness! It’s an ALEX REVIEW!
An A-ok review.
The only reviews from Nintendo life I watch these days, ever since Jon left. (He is a part of good vibes gaming these days.)
100% will buy ; have played the demo a dozen times.
I was already really into the visuals and the whole humor in it but what really sold were the menus. They are brilliant! I absolutely know this is a game for me
Definitely going to pick this up at Price Shagger.
How did you get through both the review, and your own thoughts without mentioning Matt Berry?!
Got to save some goodies if anyone knows will love, do your own review.
Great restraint.
9/10! Excellent! I gotta check this out!
Definitely getting this. Looks great! Thank God for English humour. 🇬🇧 👍🏽 🇿🇦
I've been so excited for this game since they announced it! Thanks for the review! Looking for some laughs!
You mean Thank goodness for the review
@@JV-ll1cu really missed an opportunity there didn't I?
Why it looks pretty bad
I need games like this Like I'm actually playing a cartoon
Hmmm, need to flip a coin on whether I want this on Switch or Steam Deck. I like the weight of my Switch better, but I wonder how I'd feel about the minor dips in frames. Doesn't look bad, though.
It's been almost a month since this video but I keep coming back to it to hear Alex say "Well it's not yoer pleys to ask lad, now to do- be get tumblin' out windoh soon as geym should allow"
Considering what it set out to do I feel like it deserves a full 10
What mark did it miss??
Also - You're right about the absence of "Real" Britain from media...
Didn't used to be the case!
Lets hope recent changes will put us back in the lens and have us be proud again... Warts and all :D
Been waiting for this 1 patiently since the reveal trailer. Now if we can just get release dates for Plucky Squire & Suikoden 1 & 2
I just finished it, this game was brilliant, I loved it
i have to say, since i saw this game the first time i was really impressed with a lot of what i saw and very excited to see if it could deliver on all of its promising aspects
having played some of it, i don't think the gameplay, the writing and comedy, or even a lot of the voice acting, really hits the mark for me at all, and i would say that the only thing that this game nails is its visual presentation
maybe it just isn't my cup of tea, but i do hope everyone finds something to like about it
Any news on a physical?
Sorry, what the supermarket called? Didn't quite catch it.
Carpet Baggers, I think. He only said it about 500 times, so I'm totally sure. If he'd said it 501 times, then I could give you a definite answer.
It feels like a Tom Sharpe book made video game
Thank goodness it's here.
Is there a physical copy
Need a physical.
Okay, Alex , you have sold me on this game. Where can I buy it thank goodness for Alex reviewing this.
Preordered and was not disappointed. Hilarious game.
Looks like pure fun, I'm in.
I briefly saw clips on this before and had no interest in it. But the way you described it in this review has me sold!
This looks crazy! I should play it! But I don't have a Switch. I want to cry.
It's coming out on Steam as well.
Hopefully coming to other consoles too
It's on PC and PS4/5.
Great review! I couldn’t agree more. Bought it on PS5 for less than £15 and enjoyed every minute of it. Absolute bargain.
Buying this for me and the wife to sit and laugh at as Midlanders with family up North and in the hopes there is a sequel with co-op
Is there any chance that this game will get a physical release?
I can't find this on the switch store?
What was the name of that shop mate? I missed it
You sound SO MUCH like Asher’s at times 😅 Loved this game though. So odd but incredible
2:32 surely the appropriate name for the attack is a thump?
This feels like a childrens show fever dream
This game was created just so Alex could review it
Not sure if I missed it, but what's the word on performance? Anyone know how it runs on Switch? I'm assuming without a hitch but I've been caught out by unsuspecting games before on the Switch?
He did state it, and generally good
I seen this post and thought you were talking to me for a second lol
Barnsworth aka barnsley 😅
The british humour echoes Rare's glory days. I can't wait to pick this up
More Zion reviews! Great job though, Alex, as always!
Zion is at the Olympics... training team Mario or team Sonic right now.
nevermind, Mario & Sonic Olympic games died. Zion's mission failed.
This and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga are easily the funniest games I've ever played.
Hmm. 🤨 I’m not sure if I get this game, it’s giving me some 60’s and 70’s vibes.
If as a kid yer Mam never sent you t'ye Aunties down road (not yer real Auntie) to borrow some Witch Hazel cos "Ar John's gone an got himself stung on nettles, the bloody pillock", then maybe just watch a Let's play 😄

Bye Eck! Put kettle on. 😂
Is this canon with Wallace and Gromit ?
This looks damn funny. Definitely adding to my wishlist.
How long is it?
He said in the review, it’s roughly 3 hours.
Yesh about 2 to 3 hours. And a considerably more enjoyable 2 to 3 hours than the multiple hours spent with 95% of thr triple a slop released these days
I live in the town this is based off 😅
Are you the yellow man?
@@MadBulik If I am, I feel like I should be getting some kind of royalties
The Thumbitt Inn lol
7.5/10 for me, maybe because I'm not from the UK. (Although I have lived there for a few months.) I did feel it was a little repetitive at some points. Runs great on the switch.
My and the fiancée really loved it. But 15€ for a 2 hour game is very harsh. No matter how good it is...
How much would you pay for a cinema ticket or two? Same time commitment, except you get to keep the game forever. I’d say that’s good value if you enjoyed it.
@@brucenicol6234 Not really going to the cinema anymore as it's too expensive.
PRICE SHAGGERS
Clicked on this thinking it was news about the system
Can't wait. Been waiting forever!
Lmao
Had to google the price. $20. For "a handful of hours" of playtime. It looks nice but not worth the price.
Games are meant for enjoyment, not a time sink.
Hate it when people equate a games length with its quality. It's a false economy.
@@whatamalike Exactly. The Guardian review put it perfectly - pay for this or for a ticket to see deadpool or wolverine. Same time commitment. For me, this was 2.5 hours of nonstop laughter and I’ll definitely play it again in a years time when I’ve forgotten the jokes. Amazing value for me.
Anyone else think this was a super late review of the switch console and the game name was just a headline?
The new level of story games, great job from the artists. Game? No it's an entertainment something, still great btw❤
Price Shaggers.
good morning alex
Looks like Smiling Friends
Naah. Kinda though.
Are you being served?
Yes. Literally yes. Like yeah.
Goose game energy
Same publishers
It was decent as a form of entertainment, but if there’s a sequel I hope they put some actual real gameplay in there. This is barely even a game.
Not for kids dang
Haha am frum tarn (cudeth specifically)
Great game and fun
it dosent know how to end
🎉
I'd say the age of 20
☺️☺️
Why no Xbox release?
But it was released and no one plays the full game
This isn't a review. It's an ad.
You had me at closed due to smacky bum bum.
So weird..
Not a fan of Cal Arts style tho.
I don't know if I'd call that Cal Arts, it looks like more of a British cartoon style (it's also made by British people)
@@zeldadonkey1I'm not too familiar with British cartoons. I mentioned 'Cal Arts' simply because some of the character designs are very similar to Gravity Falls, which to me is an epitome of Cal Arts style.
hello there lovely peeee politz
Thank god Felix didn't review this game. He'd suck all the personality right out of it.
Game isn't realistic, no migrants can be found.
Don't get it. A two hour game with no gameplay other than walking around touching stuff. Easily pleased I guess 😅
I'm guessing it's like an interactive book or a cartoon.
I'm at 1:00 in and this game is so repulsive, i can't watch any more, the sound is like nails on a chalkboard
