    As a N8iv elder, Pans'i Falaya Chahta and Nitzi'tahpi' Siksika' (Blackfoot)it distresses me about how our own people can sometimes be the cruelest, after all that we indigenous have had to endure from the colonists it appears that they (colonists) succeeded in corrupting our true being human Turtle Island psychology. I am also an academically educated substance abuse advisor so I have many years of experience counseling mostly teens and adolescents in recovering and internalizing SELF WORTH. Much success to Brittany in her endeavors. Kwa kwai You guys are so beautiful I love the way you look. It;s interesting also that when I was younger your stories reminded me that I had a job once working for a microfilm company and I used to be a "Halfcutter"I was one of only a few people in the world that made books for "sight-impaired " people. I had almost forgotten about that. Cheers.

    yeah way to go. We need to educate others on how to care and treat people with respect who are disabled or different and too give a peaceful voice to empower each other.

    Such a gorgeous girl, with a very unique perspective on life! She's had to develop an awareness and courage that most people may never truly appreciate. I hope she's doing well.

    My mother was White with Polish and Irish heritage and my father had Native American heritage (Ojibwe). My father’s Ojibwe roots came from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and up through Canada. I'm mixed with both races. It is very hard being mixed when you have Albinism. I'm proud of my Native American heritage from my father’s side. Native American people suffered a lot and are still suffering to this day, regardless of what tribe they're from. To add to the complicated mix, I was born with Albinism. I have no pigment. People with Albinism are often shunned, beaten, tortured and killed for their body parts in different parts of the world. It's real. It's currently happening in different countries around the world. I'm so glad I'm not living in one of those countries. I'm not ashamed to have Albinism. It makes me feel better that I'm not alone. It's educating society and the world about having Albinism.

      Chippewa is actually the white term used for indigenous people in that particular region. They refer to themselves as Ojibwe.

    • @hollydugal5299
      @hollydugal5299 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is true that Chippewa is a white term for Ojibwe. When I was growing up, my family grew up in a very white world, even though my father and his family had Ojibwe heritage. I just started finding out about this stuff in the last 20 years when my mother started researching our family genealogy.

    I thought albinism was common in the Hopi community. Wouldn't they have a way of accepting or explaining it since it's something that's been happening for years? That's sad to hear that they aren't as accepted.

      Sadly, most tribes lost many of their cultural values after the European invasion. Her lack of acceptance is unfortunately a direct result of that.

    I believe that the so called "white race" originated from albinism and that my very distant and ancient ancestors had albinism. Even the Torah points to that being the case. I also believe that the so called "Aryans" of the ancient Sindhu people of the modern nation of India, descended from people with albinism. Not being able to do hard labour in the sun due to severe sensitivity, those ancients with albinism, I believe, must have naturally had to turn to work indoors, in the arts and science, as well as mysticism and spirituality, being the very first in those fields of study. A plethora of knowledge and wisdom we now have those ancients with albinism to be thankful for. Eventually developing into the organized religions of today, with Semitic roots obviously originating from the Sindhu. The ancient Sindhu culture was the first large civilization, with only Sumer predating it, yet Sumer was not very large.. more or less a city. Very ancient roots in albinism... if I am indeed correct with my theory. And, of which I am extremely proud to be a part of.

      No, the white race as well as virtually every other race aside from africans definitely originated from early modern humans(africans) breeding with neanderthals, which is why every racial group except for africans have traces of neanderthal DNA. Albinism is not a frequently occuring condition, it's not really scientifically feasible that an entire race could be created by chance from one infrequent condition occurring repeatedly in mass numbers.

    • @TeddeeJordan

      The only issue with this theory is that white people can have albinism. The genetics of albinism are different than the genetics that cause pale skin in Europeans. There are many difference between just having fair skin and having albinism.
      1. White people can tan. If white skin tone and albinism were related, then the fair nature of white skin would be connected with not just reduced melanin but an inability to produce melanin or a reduced ability to produce melanin when exposed to the sun.
      2. White people can also be albino. In fact, albinism is more common among non-white groups like Africans. If being white was due to being descended from a group of people where almost everyone was albino, then the occurrence in people of European descent should be very high compared to the rest of the population.
      3. Some forms of albinism are associated with comorbidity, such as the vision issues in OA1 and OCA1. If being white was related to being of descent from populations of mostly albinos, then vision problems related to lack of pigment, especially OA1 that only affects the eyes, would be much more common.
      Like most phenotypical traits, fair skin in Europeans was related to a variety of interplaying genetic shifts over hundreds of thousands of years including admixture with neanderthals, the admixture of the various groups that migrated into Europe that just happened to bring in the right mix of genes to include fair skin with blue/green eyes and blond/red hair, and adaptation to an environment that favored these traits. If Europe had been tropical, then even with the above influences, Europeans would not have the fair complexion they do, which can be seen in Mediterranean ethnic groups, who are much less fair than Gaelic, Baltic, Teutonic, or Slavic people.
      That said, there is still no not to be proud of being albino. Albinism is a rare genetic change that leads to a unique and beautiful phenotype. It is something that unites people of all races and ethnicities. It in now way reduces the way someone is able to contribute to society or be a lovely person. It's just not the origins of the lighter phenotypes associated with people of Indo-European descent.

      @@TeddeeJordan White people are Jun great great great grandchildren of albinos hence why their offspring down the line could tan more easily, and why nords still get sun burned easily.
