How to rust repair a VW Golf mk3

- In this Episode i have repaired all the rust points at the front of the Golf mk3.
Mainly the rust was at the front of the rocker and inside/front of the bottom and jack point.
In the previous golf 3 episode i made my own costum jack points.

I had to do the same thing to my mk3, but i had to replace the front half of the inner and outer rocker. What caused my rust in the rocker, was the door seal. It was missing the little rubber piece that connects the door seal together at the bottom. That little rubber piece is a water channel, to stop the water from running out of the seal onto the top pinch weld of the rocker. The water leaked out of the seal where it butts together, and onto the top pinch weld, and rusted a hole at that point between the inner and outer rocker, filling the rocker with water every time it was washed or raining.
I coated the inside with seam sealer, and drilled a few holes in the bottom, so when water gets in it has a way to escape, and wont rust when it does.

A spot welding gun is best suited for welding the sill!
These are no longer as expensive as they were a few years ago and often make a lot of sanding work easier!

I first protected all the inside with inpx spray and after the welding i have putted ML tectyl on the inside of the welds.

I have a question regarding that mk3 jack parts does the parts also fit to the mk3cabrio?
Not 100% sure but in my knowledge the bottems are the same and the cabrio is reinforced at other places so then it should fitt straig
