I have a 2017 Ktm 690 enduro r and it’s been a great city bike for me. I use it to commute to work and quick trips to the shops. It handles the horrible city roads with ease and is a lot of fun. Like a street legal dirt bike.
701 has a 2 year warranty, while the 690 has one year - that swayed it for me. I already have orange in the form of an '18 KTM 300 XC dirt bike, the blue yellow and white have grown on me, and variety is the spice of life you know 😆
@Graig Hoffman, sounds like a perfect choice for you! :) The Husqvarna looks quite modern and fresh with this color scheme and extra warranty is always good so I totally understand. Nice you have a KTM dirt bike as well!
@@moto-news I'm on a 300l right now and I would not want anything heavier than that for the trails. I know they make a vitpilen 401 at 330lbs with that same long interval engine. It would be nice if they would just make a dual sport with it.
@Sebastien Green , ah ok but the Vitpilen is a lot less (offroad) trails oriented I would guess? Maybe the Svartpilen 401 would suit a bit better thanks to the knobby tires but it still is a "naked" style bike? Maybe Husqvarna reads your comment and start producing a Norden 401....😉
@@moto-news I personalize it a little. The big gray and black area in the rear seemed like it could use something. I added a reflective orange 3/8" pinstripe that tied the frame and number plate area together. Also added a little detail on the rear fender. There's also a little on the fork leg protectors and a touch on the fender. Those areas completely disappear in the daytime. I put some flat black vinyl to the headlight surround and on top the fender along with a few random decals. It's all pretty subtle and looks factory to the uninitiated. Not sure what it looks like at night on the street but it works in the dark in the garage.
@Kester McKay , good question.....I cannot find a clear answer online, maybe someone else who reads your question can let us know?😊 I do have the impression that the engines are the same so I could understand that they used the same gearing on both bikes. Are you planning to buy one of these bikes?
Not sure about the husqy. I own a 690 and 1st is geared too low (like a sportbike, takes a ton of clutch to ride out from stop, goes up to like 40 mph. 6th is low as well. With either of these bikes if you want something good offroad you need to put a 52 tooth rear and 14 tooth front sprockets on. Just don't think about highways (70 mph plus) commuting.
Thanks for your reaction @Mr Jay. Since we aim at showing the differences we presented them in the first 1:40. For the viewers who want to see more details per model are welcome to keep watching the rest of the video. Today I will upload a comparison in which only the differences of 2 models are shown and not the general information of each individual model. I will analyze how the viewers will interact and appreciate that video. 😊
I cant understand people saying 701 is too low geared. Mine does over 140kph in top easily. For me it needs a lower 1st gear and could do with lower top speed
Hello @Lc8.Inside, You are right we made a mistake at 02:32 and wrote down WP "APEX" instead of WP "XPLOR". At 00:34, 02:26 and 10:26 we did mention WP XPLOR, hopefully the rest was informative.
@Yuri Andropov, thanks for your comment. This video aims at indicating the differences which we did in the first part of the video. It is not a review but can people who are considering to buy one of these enduro bikes help to discover the differences and decide which one fits them best.
Moto pessima.
@PeterKTM06, the KTM 500 EXC is a nice enduro motorcycle fully agree on that. The 500 EXC will be lighter and therefore more capable in offroad terrain than the KTM 690 ENDURO (or Husqvarna 701 Enduro). But when you want to go on longer trips regularly the service interval of the 690 ENDURO might be experienced as an advantage. It all depends on the way you want to use the motorcycle. 👍😊

The feeling of riding a dirt bike over the streets sounds great indeed! ✊

Both have 2 yr
690 have 2 years warranty bro
A lightweight 390r or 401 enduro would really be ideal and all I need. 🙏
@Sebastien Green, how about a KTM 390 ADVENTURE? Lightweight so nice to ride some offroad trails and plenty of power besides a long interval.

Beta 390!
Ktm 690 all the way but the 2023 has got to be the worst color scheme of any KTM that they've ever decided on
Which colors would you prefer, more blue like on other models?
😆
I was in the market for a SMC-R and the Easter egg paint scheme really turned me off.
Ended up with a 2021 690.
@@franktaylor7617 haha that is also a solution, I looked up the 2021 model and those colors are nice indeed! 🤩

@@franktaylor7617 just saw you have a video of your bike on TH-cam.....what a great subtle changes!👍🤩
Is the gearing the same on the two bikes? A lot of people complain that 1st is to high and 6th is too low on the 690. Thanks.

Thanks mate. I was, but have gone with a 2nd hand T700. Just got it yesterday actually.

@Kester41, great a Yamaha Ténéré....even a bit more capable for longer rides I think. Hope you will enjoy the T700! ✊😃
@Stevenshelp 1107, thanks for sharing!👍
701 👍🔝
Great choice, a bit more unique on the streets since the majority chooses KTM.
Could have done a 1 minute video on the differences 😂

I actually like Husqvarna, all Husqvarna motorbikes, but I prefer the KTM 690, because the design is better, if only the Husqvarna were better😢
@EkoPrasetyo-qc6xb, thanks for sharing your opinion! 😃
🤔 round mirrors or triangular...... tough choice.
😆
@franktaylor7617, haha yes the motorcycles look a lot a like so it is all in the details. 😉
what about the gas gas es700
@rolphbluesky8537 we decided to not include this model in the comparison. Thanks for your suggestion. 👍

Thanks for sharing @nevillebroadbent1601! Enjoy your 701!🚀
where is the charging port?
@scottknauer6559, it is located on the left behind the headlight. It is covered with a black cap to keep water out so a bit hard to see on photos.
I like the Husky, but I prefer the Akrapovic on the KTM.
@catdaddy3302, thanks for your reaction! An Akrapovic exhaust does look good, luckily you can always add it to the Husqvarna!😉
Well, lot's of fluff, it that's what a rider is into!
@badgerbait8351, thanks for your comment!
Apex fork for ktm 690? Why say wrong things?

I’d take the Husky.

one orange, one not
Would you choose ⚪ or 🟠?
Keşke 3 lü test yapsaydınız..GASGAS ile birlikte...😊
Thanks for the suggestion @eliwallach66! 👍
Winner is AJP PR7😂
