yep, sure is. It parked up idling perfectly, sat for a little bit and then turned to crap. Oh well, made for a good video , that was also real. Cheers Kelvin
Excellent video as always!! Off topic question.....How do you feel about underdrive and / or lightweight crankshaft pulleys specifically for 3uz? Do the benefits outweigh the drawbacks? Thanks in advance.
I have a 1uzfe also, but I find it idles around 1.5k even when warmed up. However this isn't all the time either only every now and then but the motor is well heated.
hey guys. just a quick one. im putting a 1uz fe engine into my mazda bongo with the standard auto box, 1994. is the shift lever for the auto box in the forward or rearward possission in nuetral? cheers. some great videos by the way . have helped me a lot.
Kelvin, hello! Please tell me the numbers of these bearings. For some reason mine don't have designations. The regulator is not dismountable! Thank you very much in advance!🙂😊😉
Hello Kelvin Have you done a vid on coolant reservoir bottle / overflow tank in coolant system. How it should be plumbed properly on a conversion setup?
Is this the same for the 2JZ-GE Non-VVTi motor? I pulled mines out on my Lexus SC300 due to a rough idle and cleaned it, bearing and everything. Although, it didn't look anywhere as dirty as this Soarer. When I reinstalled it, I wasn't sure if the whole thing should be closed or slightly open when you spin the bearing. I also pulled out the Throttle Position sensor and found a dead spider in it. I don't know how to properly adjust that though when I reinstalled it. I also cleaned out the throttle body... car died when I drove it the next day for 15 min. My ultimate issue was that my alternator was dying. I replaced the alternator and everything is back up and running. However... sometimes I'll get a rough idle. It'll go from 1k RPM and drops to 900 then instantly back up to 1k. There was one time, it dropped to around 700. I'm not really sure what the issue is now. The 2nd maintenance item I've done on this car was to repair the ECU (although nothing was wrong with the car at that time).
Hey bud, love watching your videos regardless of needing to perform that work on my LS Recently purchased ls400 with jumped timing and did the timing it ran great for a few weeks now it starts and right a way turns off. I have done my idle valve, TPS, other TPS for traction, MAF but still it starts and turns off; any hints or advice what I should do next? If I keep the foot on accelerator it runs smooth without a single issue and don’t have cel either. One thing I haven’t done is cleaning throttle body.
@@JamesKarne I have fixed this issue. I rebuilt my idle control valve by replacing the bearings but that didn’t take away the problem so I opened up throttle body and found the problem. Attaching video link to explain: th-cam.com/video/LrUnjP28JhI/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

Curious, would it backfire if you left it long enough to get cold? Mine is doing the same thing when it’s cold and will chug like a boat for a second even when I give it gas until it warms up just a little. Also it will backfire every time I go to start it once it’s cooled all the way down but warm it starts no problem
I have replaced bearings on my iacv and now the vehicle stalls right after startup... Bearings SKF, same as original. The old ones didnt hold the position of iacv (if i set it fully open it retraced, closed - also retrced towards middle), had poor idle but runned good. May you have any ideas where to look at?😢
My 95 sc400 had the idle control coming out the side and I think the bearings are bad but I don’t know which bearings to buy/where, can somebody help me pls?
hey mate , is it possible to mate a 1uz engine to the G SERIES or W SERIES gearbox found in the diesel Hilux's? please let me know I'm finding it so hard to find a r150 in my country .
I still have my 92 sc400 purring thanks to your dedication to sharing your knowledge with us. I appreciate you brother.
I really like your quote: "Runs better than nicely".
Kelvin, I love the opening "...I wasn't going to do this..." The story of our lives. Cars, jobs, wives... ☺

you end up figuring out the issue?
I have same issue after cleaning the throttle body
@jacksonl3686 unfortunately not
Hi Kelvin! Thanks for video. It's very useful. Going to do same.
👍
Awesome as always, Kelvin!
Best! Thank you, Kalvin!

Great as always! Would you happen to have part number for the iacv o-rings?
No sorry - we just pop to the local o-ring shop and they match our samples. Cheers Kelvin

Awesome video Kelvin! Do you happen to have the part numbers for those NTN bearings?
6902 and 608
Do you have a video of replacing the coil connector? (7m18s in video) Mine doesn't seem to fit snug and I suspect will slip off.

Having this problem but cannot source for the bearings.
Ok. Not an issue I've has as I keep my own stock of them and they are easy to purchase here in NZ from most good bearing shops.
Hi. do you have a manual for 1uzfe non vvti for toyota crown 131 in pdf? thanks in advance
Hey lads does anyone have the part number for the bearings?
@cartunenz
Three tiny screws to remove the unit. One screw stuck and Philips head worn . Guess which one . 15 min job taking 15days… Zen again
I'd remove the housing in that case and pop the screw out. Its easy on the bench
