As an Asian American this is the first time I've seen bamboo cooked in a way that actually made my mouth water. I normally don't like bamboo but this looks delicious.

In Philippines we also love to eat bamboo shoots in different ways of cooking and it depends on which area you live in, like in my hometown we usually cooking bamboo with coconut milk , crabs 🦀 or shrimp and some jute leaves..😊

I'm from North Eastern India and bamboo shoots are a staple dish here. We eat them with literally everything. It's so delicious. We even dry the bamboo shoots and add them with smoked meat. The taste is heavenly

Had pork with bamboo at some chinese restaurants and is so lovely i love the texture is like so crunchy yet feels juicy and has a flavour i can only attribute to it. I had neveer seen a bamboo shoot like irl befoe tho 🤣 is so cute thank you for sharing your videos 🙏🏼
We call this dish 竹筍炒肉絲 (stir-fried bamboo shoots with shredded meat). It's also used as an euphemism for getting spanked, since it used to be pretty common to hit kids with bamboo sticks back in the sixties or so. Every kid knows they're in trouble if their mom asks if they want 竹筍炒肉絲 for dinner. Funnily enough, I've never had the actual dish LOL
My American grandparents always made us go out back and cut a fresh switch to get spanked with. I would always grab a national geographic magazine or newspaper and shove it down the back of my pants 😂

In India too we have different bamboo shoots recipe. Bamboo shoots are love.. I love them fried, cooked with pork or chicken and of course bamboo shoots curry with added baking soda to make it tender and sweet
Bamboo shoots curry is so delicious. In my country in South East Asia, curry made from fresh herbs instead of dry spices, like galangal, ginger, tumeric, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, bay leaves, chilli, and of course, coconut milk. My late mom used to make this. I'm just too lazy and bamboo shoots are hard to find in the city I'm living now. Miss you mom.
