Too late for this, but I've learned if you're painting (or even glueing on) a shiny book cover, it can really help if you use a sanding block (or piece of sanding paper) on the cover first. It creates a rougher surface, which is easier for the paint to grab hold of
I admire how brave you are!! ... and it always turns out soo beautifully!! Very creative also!! LOVE how it's turning out!! LOVE this altered book series, thanks Meg!!!
Hi Meg, I have been binge watching your tutorials and am so inspired. Loads of appreciation! I think you mentioned a sketchbook class/teacher that you have enrolled with... would you mind sharing again? I dont see a mention in the description section below the video (so this may not be the video where you mentioned it). Thank you for being you and sharing your process with admirers like myself.❤
You are a fellow leftie! For some reason I never paid attention when you were writing of holding a brush, but once you started looking through the book starting from the end, it hit me
I love what you've done with the cover. I'm with you that it was quite strong. I'd have had to knock is back a little too. It's turned out really pretty x
I think painting it was a great idea! I agree get rid of that dark border. You can use clear matt medium to seal it in enough to stay in your craft room.
12:42 Meg: oops, I don't want it to be too covered Also Meg: *proceeds to cover it completely * Love the idea though! I think I'll do the same with my altered book, for the longest time I thought of just covering it with stickers, but it doesn't really suit
Watch the Altered Book Adventures series so far! ✨ th-cam.com/play/PL2a3Ztw3gjnql2WOKA7iKZsnSfXxdsf6O.html
I've enjoyed this whole series. So glad I found your channel and Instagram. Thank you!

Thank you so much Jayne!
I am really enjoying this series 💕. Thankyou ☺️
If you have Tim Holtz distress medium it has an aging yellow tint to it but it is a good way to seal painted book covers. Great progress on the cover!
I wish I could have the same illustrated flower books, they're so nice. Thanks again for the lovely video.
Treasures aren't they!

Meg: you did good! It looks right and you’ll know how to finish it off once you think on it.

Thanks Carol! Sometimes stepping away from a project is best!
