Thank you to everyone who has shared about “Franken paper”, I had no idea! It’s such a fun concept! Here is what I believe is the original Franken paper video by Nik the Booksmith: th-cam.com/video/1HJFrH5HCaw/w-d-xo.html

I love your name for it and the pocket! The pocket is genius! Idk if Nik was the original or maybe one of the firsts to share, but I bet artists and people have been doing this for years and never named it lol I also think it’s super cool how every few years a technique is thought of by a newer artist and we get to relearn about it all over again through fresh eyes. Kinda cool to see how all our minds tend to work in similar ways. 💜

Love your interpretation! These types of pages have been around for ages. I know I've done similar things for ages, long before yt ever appeared online. LOL 😉

The fact that so many people have already seen it by a different name just proves that this is so cool of a concept that coming up with it by yourself is inevitable

I'm curious if anyone has made these pages and ran them through the sewing machine after the glue is dried? I think going around all the edges/seams on the sewing machine could be a very pretty look.

I love your technique and the term patchwork, I know Nik named then Franken pages but she mainly sewed them together, I don't use sewing so loving your patchwork technique by glueing them together.... I prefer big page journals and I'm not much of a lover of sideways papers so I'm going to definitely create one like this... Loved your concertina journals too, thank you Meg for the inspiration... Hugs Elaine xx 😊💖

L👀K at these pages! They're wonderful Meg! I already know how I'll use them and I'd tell you I'll go start now, but it's just before 3:00 in the morning and I've been watching you since just after dinner so yeah, I'm kinda sleepy now, but tomorrow for sure! Or well, no, it's already tomorrow... later on today, perhaps after I've slept 😴. Thanks for all the glorious inspiration! With love from the southern California desert, MK ❤😁🏜

Thank you. I love your concept the best because you don't overthink it. And you use larger sheets to make a page. And I love how you use what you have instead of a bunch of pre bought items. After all we call them "junk journals ". I'm glad I found your channel.

I believe they're called "franken pages". As usually, loved watching your process, from all the youtube channels that I follow about junk journaling, yours is the one I enjoy the most because your style is a little bit like mine.

It's been a while since I've seen videos about it. But I think collage masterboards come from this idea, tbh 🤔

I believe it was Nik the Booksmith who first coined the term Franken-pages. She has a video showing her process on her channel.

Thank you so much Meg, I really really enjoyed watching you create these amazing page’s. They would also look fantastic with sewing 🧵 around them. It’s given me loads to think 🤔 about. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags

I think collage is a general term for this and no one owns it. I love your idea of "quilted" pages. It's your concept and it fits your style of mKing. And others may call it something else and that's ok too. Came here from Instagram. I enjoyed watching your tutorial. Great way to use random papers and simple enough instructions and materials for beginners as well. xo

When I first saw this idea, many years ago, several called it frakenpaper. I love patchwork paper though. I love alliteration lol The addition of the pocket is fabulous! Like someone else said, Patchwork paper pocket! Love it. Thanx for another fun idea!

Oh wow Meg I love these pages! I've made two of your accordion journals, as I loved the patchwork pages on those, as every page already has an inbuilt background. This is brilliant, and I really love the idea of incorporating pockets too. So inspiring and something you could really do in front of the tv to build a stash of them. Thank you so much x

Wow this is very creative I need more books with more illustrations I love that the pages are neutral so any color can be used when it’s finished. The red flower on your one page made it pop. Definitely will making one of these. Question , Did you do a tutorial on how it can be decorated or ideals about how to decorate “the patchwork journal”. I really enjoyed yours & this tutorial. Thanks for sharing new subie to your channel 🥳❣️

Thank you!! Press down firmly on the fold and hold the paper down as you pull, and move your hand down as you go. Saves me fussing with scissors (which I never cut a straight line with lol!)
