- Hi again, everyone.
Now, I've decided to upload this song for several reasons.
Firstly, I wanted to do it as a gift for all of my friends and subscribers who have helped me get to the 50,000 views mark - thank you so much to you all.
Secondly, I have just sung this song at the Auckland, New Zealand TEDx conference which was a fantastic experience, particularly because I received the only standing ovation of the day!
Lastly, I just wanted to have the chance to sing this most beautiful song. For me, it has a very special and beautiful meaning. Now that I am an Aunty, I can really appreciate the real impact of Sondheim's words of warning. But also, I still remember what it is like to be a child, looking up to my elders, following in their example and learning how to live like them. I am ever astounded by the true genius of this man.
I hope you will allow yourselves to be truly touched by the beauty of this music. Thank you all once again for all of your love and support.

Would it be a good idea to use this song for an audition for Sweeney Todd? My voice coach said I should use a song from another Sondheim musical because Sweeney Todd is a Sondheim musical.
Ella Fried I used it for my Sweeney Todd audition last year and it went well! So I think it’s a good option

I'm auditioning for Little Red or the Witch, I'm not really a singer, more of a dancer and an actor, and the range fits me perfectly. Also, my personality is very, err, similar. xDDD

WOW, thats beautiful! We're doing this for our FMP ( final major production) at college, and we get told our characters in 2 weeks time, and i REALLY want the witch, its a stunning part! and this song is just amazing! but your voice... WOW!

Are you auditioning for Mrs. Lovett Ella Fried? If so, I think it's a great audition song. Although Mrs. Lovett is quite a comical role, so perhaps you could do something kind of funny - and, depending on where you're from, in a British accent.

@Gynger64 Thanks for the advice, I do sometimes struggle with high notes - I haven't trained in a while. I'm not actually sure who sings it in the show as unfortunately I've never had the privilege of seeing it :-)
