After 4 years of owning a Cricut Air 2 I still hadn't tried cutting on design space using an iPhone, so I thought it was about time! And I filmed the process as I tried it, so anyone else who is thinking of buying a Cricut, or wants to try out Design Space on an iPhone can see what it is like to use.

@@VinylDecalSchool anytime ^^ and really not bad for a test run with the results :3 I tried it first by cutting a shape, then using the writing feature and then both ^^ the positioning and whatnot could use working on but it was fun to try it out
It would be nice if we could see which buttons you’re pressing to get to all of the options you’re showing. The screen cuts off hiding your selections

Mine is stuck on “select an accessory” and will not move on to cut. What does this mean and how do I fix it?
I've never had that happen to me before but it sounds like your blade or whatever tool you're using may not be pressed in properly? Is it in the B holder, and is the clasp completely shut around it so it won't move?

what app do you use for MacBook? I tried and now it doesn't let me even open the app nor on my hp computer
No it’s not the same app, you need a different one for desktop. If you google Cricut design space using the computer you want to use, then it should take you to a page that will give you the correct link to download Design Space for desktop.
Yes I did find it very helpful! I am trying to decide if i should cross over to Cricut . I have a very old first generation Cameo that still cuts fine but was intrigued by the mobile app Cricut has. I think i may invest in the Joy machine and use the mobile app with it.

Can you upload your own logo onto the cricut app for cutting purposes?
You can yes, you will need a transparent png if you want to cut out of vinyl or htv, or you can add an offset and flatten if you want to make a sticker.
How do you stop the bleed on an iPhone it doesn’t even show up as an option
If you click make it and then click on the little mat icon in the top left corner, it should give you the option to toggle the bleed off and on from there
So I have an air2 also but it is not doing what it did for your it ask if I have an explore 3 no option for air 2

It's called Cricut Design Space in the app store. Or try opening this in safari: design.cricut.com/ and it should also take you to it

Hello. Thanks for making this video! I’ve tried to import svg from my MacBook to my iPhone but my phone will not except svg. Have you tried it yet?
You're welcome :) I can't save it to my phone but it lets me save it to iCloud... perhaps get dropbox or a different file type app and see if you can save it to there instead?
At about 6.16 mine goes to “reprint” it wants me to print out the image again and it never finds my printer any ideas ?
So you're trying to print and cut something? Or do you want to just cut it and not print?
If it's print and cut then you may need to set up your printer elsewhere in your phone. If you want to cut, you will need to change the setting by clicking the edit box along the bottom of design space, and then change the operation to 'basic cut'.
If it's neither of those things then you may need to get in touch with cricut as sounds like it could be a software problem.

@@VinylDecalSchool i honestly just need to cut because the picture is usually already printed so thanks i’ll try that ! So i’ll just need to add the photo that im trying to cut to the canvas and use “cut” instead of “print and cut” and it’ll just doing the tracing and cut that image right ?

Thank you so much for this! i really need help asap.😭Cricut customer service is not very helpful. It says on their website that you can use the ios app without internet, but when i put my iphone on airplane mode my cricut app doesnt load?
My cricut explorer air 2 is another city and I wont have internet access. I was wondering if you can assist me with this query.
You reckon once I reach my destination and pair my iphone with my cricut app, my designs pace app can work without internet connection? I have all my files on my device and have logged into my account. I just wont be able to have internet access in another location and i really need to do a project! Can you pls try it on your app while your mobile is paired to the bluetooth on cricut without internet and let me know if it works offline.🙏🏼would highly appreciate a response ! thanks again🙏🏼
No problem, I've just tried it for you and no mine isn't working offline either, it just says it needs an internet connection to continue. Sorry! Hope you manage to get something sorted or Cricut gets back to you soon with a solution.

Can I use the pen feature with iPhone app? If so, how? Thank you. Loved this video
You can - where it says ‘Operation - Basic cut’ along the bottom line, you need to change that to ‘Draw - Pen’ and then pick the pen type you will be using.
It’s best to find thin lined fonts/pictures for this as well otherwise you end up with an outline rather than something that looks like writing

If you click on the item you want to get rid of, there should be a cross on the top left that you can click to delete it

when i click save when it offers cut or print then cut it has an error message, any idea why?
What does the error message say? And are you choosing print and cut or cut before you save?
Vinyl Decal School i was just choosing cut then save it says imagine upload error, unable to upload your image. try again. and i keep trying but it doesn’t want to work
@@Angelaraee it sounds like it could either be the image not being recognised, have you tried uploading a different file type at all? Or it could maybe be that your design space needs updating?
If you try a different file type, and update it, and it's still not working though then you should get in touch with cricut to see what they suggest.
How do you tap to remove the background? She didn’t say what she tapped…
You just tap on whichever bit you want to remove.
Is it worth it to buy one if you only have a phone right now ? And also will there be a app update for adding the white around it (forgot what that was called)
It honestly depends what you want to make with it. For pre-made designs that you buy or get from Cricut access, or really simple wording then I think a phone is fine, but as soon as you want to start creating anything more complicated or at a faster pace then it might cause issues.
And I don't think they have announced when offset will be added to the app as far as I'm aware, but here is a tutorial for an alternative app you can get that does it: createswithlove.com/offset-text-wireless-devices/
@cake I have a cricut air and only use my phone! I make complex images, I have only used a pre-made image a couple times . I do mostly shirts and have not had any problems! Just takes some learning of where all the options are and you might need a couple outside apps for different uses in Ds but I think you'll like it much better! Just make sure to save everything to the cloud and not to the device so that if you do go to use a laptop or home computer you'll be able to access it. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out!! I'm no expert but can do my best to help! I started with the cricut expression about 15 or so yrs ago and taught myself! I wish they had youtube or access to help like they do now!!

Can youget images from your downloads on your phone!?
Yes, if you go to upload, browse files and then search for it you should be able to access it from there if it is a compatible file type
it lets me make a design but won't give me the option to actually cut it
Have you synced up your machine when you first sign in?
What size did you put the font ?
The design I uploaded was handdrawn so I didn't have a font size for it
Where’s the mirror option
When you click ‘make’ there’s a little mat icon that comes up in the top left hand corner. The mirror option is at the bottom of the options when you click that.
Or you can also click edit and then horizontal to mirror it before you make it.
Can you do a video on how to change the color? Or is their no option for that on the iPhone?
If you just click on what you want to change, select edit on the bottom row and then you can change the colour under 'cut' if you're cutting it or 'print' if you're printing then cutting.
