    Yoooo! That’s CRAAAAAZY!!!!😳😳 in the older models it would just progressively speed up the sample as you went up the pads but this is true octave change.👀👀😳😳

    I'm trying to do it the right way though. Where you sample the same instrument using multiple notes and then create multi sampled instruments to use with the MPC X.
    Doing it with just a single note kind of works, but it won't really sounds good when you play more than a single note at a time. It sounds especially bad when you attempt
    to play chords or progressions. Also, with using the method you're using you still want to record a middle C note or at very least a C note so you know exactly what key
    the note is in later on down the line when you go to use it. Otherwise you're further screwing yourself up even more when you go to use the chord progressions that are
    built into the pad performance mode of the MPC.

    Nice video, especially for me who is thinking of buying the X to play from my MIDI keyboard, like I used to with my old S6000 sampler. So, two questions: (1) once you've made your sample, can it be played right across an 88-note keyboard, and (2) what's the polyphony in this case? More than 10 I hope, as I have 10 fingers!

      They each have vast differences. I personally favor the MPC Live. It’s the only one that’s completely portable...battery powered. It can do most of what a DAW can do completely standalone and unplugged. In controller mode, the Force and the X are both powerhouses that feel great and offer more real estate and quicker access to features due to the increase in buttons knobs and Q links

    even though you can save a step by simply hitting "sample edit" top left side of MPC X and "pad perform" which
    is above your pads on the far right side.

    cool video but can you multisample a VST and just assign say, each sample across 4 keys so you don't get a hugely slowed down note on the lower octaves. a simpler way i guess would be to say can you multiple a VST every forth note, i.e. 3 samples per octave, and then have 6 octaves and 12 samples spanned across your keys ?
    asking because I'm looking at getting the MPC X before Christmas (",) and its good to know this stuff before i hit that Buy Now button.

    • @RobCamizzi
      @RobCamizzi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ElAlexxis yep, funny, just said the same thing in another comment... that’s a lot of the mojo of simple sampler devices I think, the way just one note sounds when you re-use it for all the notes. That’s how the 80s were, they sure didn’t have the RAM to sample each key anyway that’s for sure... and mellotrons too I think, it just slowed down the tape to accomplish different note pitches? Or maybe it did have a separate tape for each key, I forget now.

    I got one more question for you.... How in the he'll do you get 2.3 on here. I'm trying to graduate from computer programs. I love this mpcx but gotta figure it out.

    • @RobCamizzi
      @RobCamizzi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you log into your Akai Pro account, the download should be there. If not, you’ll need to contact support. You’ll need to do the firmware update for the machine, as well as the software update for your computer

      @@RobCamizzi I have new computer that I just downloaded 2.3 on but the mpcx won't recknize it. Pisses me off. I will try and figure it out when I'm off vacation. Thanks bro. I will hir you with questions. I appreciate the help.

    • @RobCamizzi
      @RobCamizzi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure how you’re accessing the download, but it’s best to use their method. Instead of hitting “run” hit “extract all” then double click the install Icon. That should pull up a menu where you choose your MPC model and begin the install. There are times when uninstalling the previous version is necessary.
