    I appreciate your video, and thank you for making time to educate us that found you. I only add one tiny thing….. Repurposing that water you poured down a drain could do wonders for your other plants. 😊

      My mom picked ours up for us 😆
      So do you use surejell as well?

    • @wrightfamilyhomestead

      @@ASimpleLifewithChrisTara yes I do. Its about all I can find anymore. I used to use the Ball pectin, I liked it because it could use less sure and measure it out for smaller batches.

      Hmmm....yes that would be good. I had liquid pectin but have never tried that before.

    I need to start making jam
    It doesn’t look hard the way you showed us

      Yes, do it. It really is easy, plus there are directions on your box of pectin. ......and you can buy a low sugar option as well. And videos out there on no pectin. You can use your big stock pot to water bath in....jars need to be covered. That's how we usually do it.

    Do you have to let the jars cool a bit before you pull them out of the water bath?

      I would for like 5 min... then just carefully lift out onto a towel. Not directly to a cold surface.
      Thanks for watching 😊

    This was a great video, Tara! How did your jam taste with the added butter? I've never seen butter added but I am sure it makes it all taste ever better!

    • @ASimpleLifewithChrisTara
      @ASimpleLifewithChrisTara  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, you couldn't taste the butter. It did help but not completely. So definitely could do without . Just have to skim off the foam.
      Thanks for watching.

    Hi Tara! I was wondering how much sugar and strawberries did you use. And can I use the water bath making it this way. Thank you for sharing this with us. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed weekend and stay safe my dear and Special Friend.

      Thanks so much for watching. 8 cups fresh strawberries
      After crushing strawberries, you need 5 cups, strawberries, 7 cups, sugar... we used the sure jell pectin, and the recipe and amounts are in the box. Make sure and follow the amount of sugar it says, or it will not turn out on this one. And yes, you can water bath on the stove...

    Can this be done with frozen strawberrys?

    • @ASimpleLifewithChrisTara
      @ASimpleLifewithChrisTara  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. You can make jam with frozen strawberries, BUT YOU need to look at your pectin box to check for recipe.
