- They formed in November of 2004 and their first single "Material Pain" was released in Shoxx Magazine on December 21 of the same year.[1] The following day they also released their first Maxi-single, "Moonlight Revival".
Phantasmagoria claimed the cover of a well-known visual kei magazine, Cure, only one month after officially forming, becoming one of the fastest indies bands to appear on the cover of a magazine.[2]
Rame (bassist of Vidoll) teasingly began referring to the band as "Mago". (Mago means "grandchildren" and was taken from Phantas-mago-ria.) The name "Mago" is now used by fans as well.
Phantasmagoria played their first concerts in the United States on October 21 and 22nd, 2005 at Oni-con in Houston, Texas. On March 26th, the band played their first Japanese one-man.
On February 23rd, 2007, guitarist Iori and drummer Matoi left the band. The reason for Iori's departure was because he did not feel comfortable with being in a major band, but Matoi stated in Japanese interviews that he left due to a foot injury, while in English interviews, KISAKI said that he also did not feel comfortable with being in a major band. On April 5th, KISAKI announced that he will be retiring, and that Iori and Matoi have returned to the band, but the band will be "sealing." He followed up on the announcement on a live radio show on April 8th, where the band's first and last fan trip was revealed, as well as the final event tour and final oneman tour. KISAKI officially retired from the active visual kei scene on August 31, 2007 but will continue to run his label and produce.
Riku recently joined a new band by the name "chariots", in which they have released a PV and have appeared in recent issues of several different visual kei magazines.

It doesn't matter what gender he/she is, because Visual Kei is androgynous; neither looking like a boy nor girl, but have both gender appearances. That's the beauty of it.

@beccapopcorn I agree. I would LOVE to try to do that kind of makeup, but it must feel at least a bit cakey. But the fake contacts, unless they're cheap circle lenses, shouldn't hurt that much.

oh god, i saw that like 11 years ago and remember how my 13 year old ass tried to do that and totally failed, because i was new into doing stuff with make up and my skills where reeeaaally bad. i was frustrated af 😂 now i'm 24 and i have nothing to do with visual kei since 10 yrs, but i rly got the desire to try that make up again now, i still think its beautiful.

that hair is AMAZING!
The make up artist put black eyeliner on both the top of the lid and the bottom of the eye. Then applied black eyeshadow upon the whole thing. She then got Purple eyeshadow and put some on top of the black eyeshadow on the top of the eye lid. When you use black eyeshadow and put a lighter color on it, the black eyeshadow absorbs the color and looks just like the shadow instead of a light hard to see one. Then she took white eyeshadow and put it on the corner and lower right side of the eye.

As for the lips I don't know what the make up artist uses. But he used black lip liner to line the lips. Then applied purple lipstick and layed gold lipstick on the bottom.
As for spiked hair. Use a tease comb and tease a strand of your hair. Apply hairspray and use a blowdryer on it on low speed. And it should stay.

@roikuchan Use a liquid or gel liner, and then set it with black eyeshadow. It also helps to use an eyeshadow primer.

@xGAZEROCKER The black eyeshadow is almost exactly the same as the plain black eyeshadow at MAC , you can find it in Macy's.

I have the same problem if you use an eyeshadow base it stays longer and doesnt smear, I use maxfactor masterpiece colour precision eyeshadow, it works as a base as well as eyeshadow and isnt too expensive I hope that helps

There really isn't a specific type of gem. You can just buy rhinestones at Wal*mart or Micheals or whatever store sells them. (sorry, but I'm not sure what country or state or whatever you live in so I'm not sure what stores are near you) all you have to do is put them on with eyelash glue and voila! KISAKI eyes! :D

I love these tutorials, but my problem is I can't find a brand or eyeliner/eyeshadow that is that dark and stays on for a very long time. I'm not sure if I'm just using bad make-up or if it's my skin, but I use Maybelline waterproof eyeliner and stuff, and within barely an hour it's already coming off. I really want to do these make-up styles, but first I need the right make-up. Anybody have any good make-up brands that they would suggest? Oh, and as always Kisaki is so cute! ^w^

Every time I attempt to do this I use eyeliner and eye shadow on my lid and it smudges off within an hour. What can I use that will stay better?
I am a makeup artist and used to dress visual kei for 10 years, this makeup is not smudgeproof. It will only last for a couple of hours, maybe just for a photoshoot or something.
They don't go through all the stages in the process of doing the makeup.
They use a full coverage foundation all over the face and eyelids, pretty heavy with many layers and then they set it with powder. Best and cheapest powder is actually baby powder. apply a lot, you want it to be completely dry on your skin.
The best way to make the eyeliner stay on the eyelid is to first paint everything with a black eyeliner pencil, on top of that you put black liquid eyeliner instead of black eyeshadow. The powdered foundation under the eyemakeup will make it last longer aswell. ^^
I can write down the whole process if you want, the video shows the most obvious only. There are much more into it like highlighting, contouring, blush and stuff. pretty much like.drag queen makeup, but with less extreme contouring!
