Ci sono davvero tantissimi (e tante) trombettisti meravigliosi, ma la ricerca delle dinamiche di suono di Sommerhalder per me risulta unica. Si potrebbe pensare quasi che i suoi suoni vengano costruiti in sala di incisione, se non fosse che li produce perfettamente anche dal vivo... Veramente stupendo e unico.
I just went back and looked at what I wrote a couple of years ago- I have to apologise greatly! I honestly can't even work out what I was talking about- Giuliano is immaculate- and I've seen him live now, and he's just as outstanding when you hear him in person- I was blown away.... So, very sorry for my immature remarks- I won't say any more.

Hard Piece, alot of control needed of the air!!! Keep listening to yourself when you play, at times you lose the consistent air flow and lose your great sound and presence (to me anyway...). Also, ensure your articulation is VERY precise and refined, NOT just fast. Your technique is quite mind-blowing at times. Fantastic!!!
sommerhalder is such a good trumpet player...usually...now in this piece he just made a really bad interpretation in my opinion...there's no need there to circular breathing in the opening....

yea, there's no need for it. Terrible choice by the musician.
