Have tried it mostly because I wanted to swap out sorcery for precision and still wanted damage so chose dark harvest primary with precision secondary. Have a around 70% win rate in Low Elo Silver III for now

I would like to see Xerath as an AP bot, but it might not be worth it in high elo.
The thing is, I really love playing botlane, and sometimes it's kinda awkward when I try to pick him when I don't get the supp role.
Maybe I just suck at csing.
AP bot always been insanely good but only problem is making sure you have good consistent AD damage on your team
do you have any tips facing LeBlanc? I find myself in a lot of matchup if i pick first and even if somehow win lane, she always seems to have more impact
its a really hard matchup. Normally you have to play to just survive and try your best to kill botlane with ultimate.
A friend recomend to buy tenacity boots because it make leblanc dont kill you in a single combo

is rylais 2nd item good? i always go ludens > horizon > raba then rylais is it better to build it earlier?
It's a difficult question to answer as AP itemization is a bit more complex than this. A rule of thumb would be that:
1. Your first item would be pretty standard (Ludens)
2. However, your second item slot should be situational. Unavoidable damage = Zhonya/Banshee, health stackers = liandries, squishies that does not build MR = shadowflame, if in doubt you can go horizon.
3. Your third slot should always be either A) Cryptbloom or B) Rabadon. The reason for this is that rabadon is the most gold efficient item in terms of AP and if you delay this spike you will increase the odds of you dealing little damage and its your ROLE to deal damage. Cryptbloom if they build MR as flat magic pen is bad (sorc boots and shadowflame - and for same reason no reason to buy this if the team build MR early.) where as cryptbloom gives % magic resist which is a more valuable stat.
4. So the only TRUE situational slot would be your 2nd and your last item - and I do never see a situation where you would buy it 2nd as the other items just gives you more value - I dont see the slow as being very effective on Xerath as an artillery mage.
TL;DR. No do not build rylai on this champion
To elaborate further on the match he played (without knowing his thought pattern):
2nd item is situational = so not always picking horizon here. Horizon is not the best item into this comp as you would think early game that ivern and gragas would be health stacking (ivern is full ap for some reason which is troll). He could have thought that they would build more MR as he has two magic damage dealers and MR is an OP stat. He might have opted into rylais to be more of a support to his jungler as both him and his jungler doesnt have much CC (they only have his E) so its hard for him to follow up with E on Zed as Zed doesnt bring any CC whatsoever. In general, you could have build into different paths here but the most important part is you have a plan for your build and you know why you are building it. This is the main difference between lower elo and higher elo - they know why they do shit. But as I said earlier its better for your standard build to include horizon than rylais as there would be more use cases for that than rylais!
Have you tried electrocute? It's so op now it works on everyone
kinda hard to proc electrocute since you need 2 spells and a auto or 3 spells. Majority of the time trades just consist of W Q

You can proc elec with 3 consecutive shots of R, I've seen the best chinese xerath using elec + sudden impact + ultimate hunter and it looks like a lot of fun
