Hey I had similar problems about 10 years ago I built a 460 with Keith Black Pistons it ended up breaking rings and pulling the top one piston off come to find out the man that built the engine didn't put enough ring clearance in and when the engine heated up it was basically seizing up just thought this might help
Don’t know, I’ll check. It’s currently back in the shop have the engine replaced again under warranty as the other engine block evidently had a small crack causing a persistent coolant leak. Ugh

Hey man, I have a 78 bronco 351m np435. I'm curious what it took to put in a 460. The 460 should bolt up to my 4spd right?
Previous owner did my swap so I cannot honestly answer that question.

Yeah the replacement came from S&J in 2020. No leaks, no smoke, excellent oil pressure.

Same ignition problem solved with an engine ground strap, simply forgot it when the motor went back in. Do you have one on the new engine?

Opinion - All 460s are not so good. Most people just cant afford to drive them enough to figure that out.
Well if this 460 doesn’t hold up I’ll be going with a different engine next time. I’m still pissed the last 460 only made it 16,000 miles...
