  • Go back in time with me as I show you my two-volume family album from 2006. This one was a creative challenge for me because I decided to limit myself to only one Power Palette (similar to the collections CM has today). But looking through this 15+ years later I'm surprised and pleased at how much I still like these layouts!! Hope you will too!!
Thank you ‪@kellycreates3310‬ for inspiring me to pull this album off my shelves and show it to you! I really needed to flip through this album again (as you will see!)

Loved this so much. It works so well because the focus goes right to the photos and journaling. So pleasing to the eye. This is what's always attracted me to CM. Thanks for sharing.

This was great thanks for sharing. It’s good to see simple layouts, it seams like we try to add the kitchen sink to our layouts sometimes which can sometimes take away from ………

I agree. I am sometimes guilty of adding too much because it's fun to play with paper and stickers, but definitely that can overwhelm the photos!

Love your album shares. I still have this paper from old CM. Your ideas have made me want to get it out and use it.

Oh good, that makes me so happy! I think we all have so much "old" paper, and it's great to feel inspired to use it up!

This flip through was fantastic. I loved seeing your layouts and such lovely family photos. It’s so nice to see how you use the whole pallet throughout your albums. You did a great job. Love and blessings xx

I loved seeing your albums and I was so amazed that you actually were living in Fayetteville NC at the time. I’m live in N.C. in Moore county and work at Firsthealth in Pinehurst. I wish we could have met in person. You really inspire me with your albums and techniques 😀

I loved the trip through the past with your beautiful family, such love. You're a great mom! Also, seeing your layouts are inspirational. I will have to go through my older albums and get ideas. I still love my first album from 1996, when we only had card stock, design rulers, pens, and a few Mrs. Grossman stickers...really had to think outside the box when you pare down options; you reminded me of that with this "sticking to one pallet".

It was definitely a different scrapbooking world then - I feel like more of my own creativity was able to come out. Now I often get inspiration from Pinterest or Facebook, and it's so easy to see what other people are doing. I think I need to find ways to stretch myself again!

Great simple pages! No pressure to use just one picture with a page full of embellishments! Also love the detailed journaling!

Thanks! Although I will admit I do a lot more single photo layouts now, because of the way I take photos with my phone!

I love the page that had two rows of photos with the extended one on upper left and lower right. Thanks for showing this window into a family album. Loved it.

This was a really cool layout! Would be awesome if you did a month where you used your old layouts as "sketches" for new layouts... maybe a layout-a-day sort of thing!

Wonderful share, Nicole! Love what you did here. You have a timeless style and a lovely family! My spouse was RCAF for 33 1/2 years, and it always does my heart good to see pages from other military families! Thank you for that! Enjoyed this SO much, great work! ~Ali (Nova Scotia, Canada) 🇨🇦

Thank you for sharing. I have all of the Jewel packs from old CM. Now I’m thinking maybe I should use it on an old album I’ve never scrapped. Great inspiration!

I often try to do that - use older papers for older photos. Plus that gives you the added benefit of emptying storage space to make room for new stuff!

I enjoyed this album look through Nicole. I personally loved the Cabana Power Palette and used it a lot in my albums. It was fun to see some of the older punches, like the Geometric Multimaker, still have that one and haven’t used it in years. I also got my first nice Canon digital camera in 2006. 3 cameras and big lens later I still take almost all of my photos with my camera and not my phone.

Cabana was my favorite of all the PPs for sure. I wouldn't be sad if they brought back a refreshed version!
