  • This weekend I got to fly skydivers in a beefed up 182. As always, it was a blast. Included are a couple of first time jumpers and a lot of fun jumpers. Enjoy!
    This video is for entertainment purposes only. It has been highly edited leaving out pre-flight, run-ups and a number of other boring things. Safety is always the top priority!

    That's how I remember most of my jumps back in the seventies. Loved those late afternoon jumps with the sun low in the sky and the anticipation of a few cold beers afterwards. Ok, at lot of cold beers.

      @@pauleyplay At the age of seventy two with great grandchildren, I have a slightly different frame of mind now, but if you erase all the old experiences and create the possibilities of new and exciting things, then yes.
      The biggest danger is not the risk of death or injury but one of addiction and the sacrificing of all else.

    This brings back fun memories. My first paid gig after getting my commercial ticket was hauling skydivers in a 1956 182 at a small airport here in Denton, TX. That was in 1979 or 1980. We usually went up to 7500 or 10,000 AGL. I also did one static line jump too. Fun times!

    Memories, memories!! I was a skydive-pilot in the 70th in Holland. Flew the C182 Skylane and the C172 Reims Rocket. Good times. Thanks for the film. I enjoyed it.

    Wow - What a nostalgia trip. I learned to skydive in WF in the 80's. I got hooked into the life and went on to have a career in aviation. My folks were from Cooperstown. Thanks for sharing.

    Made my first three jumps from a Cessna 180 and a 182 Dublin Va. The 180 didn't have a step you had to stand on the wheel. Fell of the wheel on a static line jump. Was upside down feet up when chute opened. Extremely terrifying

    • @bobfromfargo8026
      @bobfromfargo8026  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We don't use flaps on takeoff or landing. Just burns out the flap motor and there is no need here. Flat fields on both ends and 3k foot long runway. Plenty of length ;)

    What altitude are these guys going out at?

    • @brandonboeckman6812
      @brandonboeckman6812 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Static line is usually 3500. The first guys did Hop and pops at 5500. Most 182 dropzones 10k is full altitude. You can get higher but it takes longer and uses more fuel because they don't have the climbing power of a turboprop

  • @pauleyplay
    @pauleyplay ปีที่แล้ว

    Its summer take that damm door off. Lots more fun,Dump em out Roll over to the left Let the nose fall. Carry plane around level about 200+ Done correct you will look up & there they are. Do it again in under the guys canopy. Skid to flaps down 1st on the ground again. Now thats fun. Just as mutch fun last lift 8.5 dump em. Same roll over come around about 200 under the guys in freefall bleed off the speed Shut down the engine.Fly right along with them. Break it off deadstick in right into the tiedown. Got paid by tach hour I didnt care. To young and dumb. Would not trade the memory !! Southern Cross Downsville Md

    Pilot should be watching the jumpers on exit for possible problems and that do not snag their gear on anything. He spends a lot of time looking lower left, possibly watching airspeed.
