To put things in perspective, I believed CFA Institute has "boldly" evolved into customizing for their would be ' future charterholders' needs. Although there are still many finance career opportunities for candidates who passed the level 3 exams, I believed CFA wish to laser-focus on specific pathways. As for me, I was pretty excited when they first introduced this specialization and as someone working in the corporate finance field for some time, the Private Markets specialization pulled me to take up the CFA accreditation.

The “traditional portfolio pathway” will be the same but seems as though some of the private wealth topics are migrating to the other pathways
This seems to a period of experimentation for the CFA Program, we will see how it all plays out.

When is the curriculum coming out for 2025?
CFAI should release the Level 1 and Level 3 curriculum in May and the Level 2 in August.
