This Limerick team can dominate hurling for the next decade.. im just delighted that my county has won the title after 45 years .. Limerick wanted it more than Galway .. they played like men possessed.. Hurling is the greatest of games and Limerick are worthy champions... Thank you to everyone for all the hard work , effort and dedication to win us this title... You make us so proud lads X

Rewatching this and seeing the pride and joy on their faces! It took us 45 years but still, look at us, we deserve it, it all paid off look at us, Limerick lives on! We may not have won this year but look how far we made it this year! Limerick lives!

Why do so many top hurlers snub playing for Ireland against Scotland in compromise shinty/ hurling internationals? ?
Top hurlers lack patriotism it seems to me and as a result the tier 2 players from the Christy ring cup have to play for Ireland and frequently end up losing to Scotland! !
I have also noticed that all the players from Scotland are their very top level players!
The Scots shinty players are very patriotic people but the irish hurlers most certainly are not !!
At least the top Irish Gaelic footballers who compete in the compromise football Aussie Rules are patriotic so there is no excuse for the hurlers.
If the top hurlers played, Scotkand would not stand a chance. I thought that was pretty obvious.A
Bit late commenting but I think it was agreed that the top hurlers weren't allowed to play except for a select few. It's come down to rules. If we played full rules hurling against Scotland it's wouldn't be fair as we can catch the ball so hurlers aren't lowed catch when playing v scotland. Similarly if we played the best top hurlers it's wouldn't be fair to the Scots as hurling at the top level has a lot of money behind it for expertise strength and conditioning and just amount of top players. If the alll stars played the shinty international v scotland it could be a wash out. And that's not an insult it's just the mixtures of the two native games. Big respect to the shinty lads though. Both games come from the same celtic lineage. Keep her lit
