I never, ever tire of watching these capable men and women do their jobs, whether as a passenger or in excellent videos like this one. True professionals in every sense of the word! Some people say commercial flying must be boring as all-get-out, much like driving a bus. I disagree! Every flight, and particularly every approach and landing, is unique.

Good shutter speed, props look realistic

This view is from the port side. Seeing the props on a computer or TV screen, the 60 cycle flicker creates optical illusions of the props going slow or backwards. The Dash 8's props rotate to starboard. I love the sound of the props, the box fan sound in high idle and taxiing, and the bass hum in takeoff and in flight. At 1,500 RPM, the props buzz like the wings of a bumblebee.

      1020 rpm*

For sure! If they were really to reverse the engines at that rpm, imagine the damage!! They do change the pitch of the props to simulate reverse mode (and thereby facilitate slowing the aircraft) on touchdown, though.

It aint a snow storm until you cant see the wingtip...

In this view, the wingtip is obscured by the engine cowel, and propeller hub cone.

Interesting! From a comfort and performance perspective, how does this compare to a B737 or A319/20?

Very very loud, and definitely smaller cabin than the 737 or A320

Will.Mase.Albert . 737 is a pure jet as well as our 319. Both r twins . The Q400 is a twin turboprop but is for much shorter routes and seats alot less people.
