    HERE's A HUGE TIP: Just keep the extra kid stuff in your CAR.

      Unless you live in a hot climate. I’m in Florida, while I can leave a change of clothes and a couple of diapers in the van, most things go bad - or worse - will explode, if left in the van.

      Or if you don't drive/own a car, for someone who walks everywhere it's so much easier to carry a diaper bag.

    I try to go minimal but every time I do I have a mini emergency and don’t have the things I feel I needed in the moment. Now that I’m expecting baby number 2 I feel like I definitely need to cut back with what I bring around for my 2year old. The struggle is real.

    I feel like having the little diaper clutch changing pad combo is great for this. It can go in your purse and has room for what you need plus a changing pad.

      That's another great work around instead of lugging around a big heavy diaper bag plus purse everywhere. Thanks for sharing!

    Girl! Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I love my big tote bag. It’s my absolute favorite thing to carry around, and I started to feel really frazzled as I’m making my baby registry at the thought of using a diaper bag for SO MANY EXTRA THINGS. I’m a minimalist and a really simple gal so the thought of having a whole separate diaper bag was just way too much for my mind to handle!

    This works out perfectly for car mom's like I'm a public transit mom but love the tips on organizing a bag that's not a diaper bag we ditched ours when our little turned 5 months haven't looked back been thinking of just buying a college backpack and using that or a travel purse with water bottle pockets thanks for the tips we usually do three sippy bottles filled with water, formula dispenser, diapers wipes and snacks plus mr.cuddlesworth we don't leave home without him and an emergency binky that's it plus we have a enormous stroller

      Definitely understand you, when I had my first we lived in NYC and felt that I needed to take everything and had to use the bus or train, I used a school backpack with good padding now that we live in PA and drive everywhere so I can now go more minimal

    I’m still cracking up over that intro lol! Hands down, an exact reenactment of every mom with a giant diaper bag. I use mine as a purse and gym bag also. But yes, I totally agree babies are way more simple than we make them out to be.

    I'm not one to pack the whole house when going out. I just found it practical to have a bag with multiple insulated pockets for milk vs one without.

    I never understood nail clippers. I rarely ever need a med kit either. I do have a few bandaids in my diaper bag, but have used one only once.
    Buy some cheap small reusable bags and they are great for snacks, plus less waste. The thicker reusable bags are great for wipes.
    I’m super minimalist so I only have what I need. Church, we have more in the bag for keeping little ones occupied during service.
    Also, I keep a bag in the car with extra diapers, big pack of wipes, changing pad, change of clothes, doggy bags for dirty diapers, and ointment. In case you are out longer than planned or if you need to change a diaper in the back of your suv.

    I’ve been feeling this way for a few months now! Baby is due anytime and I just don’t want a diaper bag. I ordered a clutch / changing pad and was able to fit everything I need in there. I’ll just throw it in my purse and trouble shoot from there! Best part, it was only $20 NOT $200!! Thank you for making me feel like I’m not the only one over diaper bags! 😂

      You’re definitely not alone! I am sad tho that after having my kavu purse/diaper bag for over 4 years it now has a rip and I’m going to have to replace it soon! (I’m not a shopper so this is like torture 😆)

    If you wear a one strap bag can you still wear a wrap? Expecting father here so I have no idea what works together and what doesn't lol

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on how baby fits in the wrap, but for little babes that are still facing your chest when you wear them and don’t hold their heads up the one strap would probably be right west their face rests on your chest. Might have to go the Fanny pack option in this scenario 😆you’ve got this dad!!

    Ive been struggling for weeks, maybe two, three months now, choosing a diaper bag . I’m due soon and just can’t pick something. I must admit, handbags are my one guilty pleasure. I just like very nice handbags . I just can’t see myself carrying a big diaper bag again. I was thinking about the tote in mini or small from Marc Jacobs. It’s reasonable price for what it is and looks good too. But I just can’t pull the trigger and order it.

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  ปีที่แล้ว

      You definitely don’t have to give up your favorite handbags for a diaper bag. I’m sure there are some great options for a handbag you could use for both a purse and diaper bag. Honestly most of us just end up overpacking when we have a big diaper bag anyways lol. Good luck with your search!

    Some of that stuff can stay in a pouch in your car because it’s very easy to forget to check your bag before leaving the house and you might be left with no diaper.
    I always keep a change or 2 in the car then you don’t need so much In your bag

    Do most people normally carry a purse too??? I normally just use a pocket in the diaper bag for my stuff.

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've definitely seen people use both, but I totally agree-I don't have enough arms for that so doubling up with the diaper bag has worked amazing for me!

      What do you do when you need to run errands quickly and your partner stays with the kids outside? I just have my small purse with wallet, phone and keys and I go. I don't want to take these out from a diaper bag and wear it in my hands. Or another case: your baby is moving fast from your stroller where you have "everything" in one bag. Nobody to help you. What will you do? It has happened to me and I was quite stressed - watching also the stroller sideways when running for my kid. Now I can be calm because I have the essentials in my crossbody bag.

    Hi I am shop owner and my English is not good but I try to explain my experience by meeting parents on daily basis.. Backpack are like more style then parents needs. So bags which have 2 big partition and with two side pockets with normal size are perfect because it's carry at least one mother and 6,7 baby suit medicine feeder bottle's dippers wipes toy's formula bib etc

    My tushbaby carrier is my purse and my diaper bag 🤣

      I used this minimal strategy even during the newborn stage. Diapers, wipes, and burp cloths can cover almost everything if you’re breastfeeding! Best of luck with your birth and enjoying your new family member!
