That's the first time I ever seen a courtroom not rise for the jury! That tells me a lot what this judge thinks of a jury and also the Attorneys in this trial! And then they let an alternate go early then show him leaving....🙈 Truly a Sloppy court.

I think I’m in the minority here, but I appreciate a courtroom free of dramatics. This is not entertainment (well, it’s not intended for that purpose anyway), and the jurors are not allowed to use their emotions in making a decision. This is simply about presenting evidence to try to convince a jury that the man who was arrested is the one who committed the crime.
I get anxious when trials seem to be about the lawyers instead of the parties, so the fact that these lawyers are not stars actually is refreshing. But like I said, it seems like mine is a pretty unpopular viewpoint.

This judge is really laid back as far as courtroom etiquette is concerned. I have NEVER seen a trial where a judge didn’t require everyone to stand when the jury enters and exits the courtroom. After watching the Tim Ferriter trial with Judge Howard Coates presiding, I guess I’ve become spoiled. He really knows how to run his courtroom all the way down to making sure attorneys, when walking away from the podium, are given hand held 🎤 so that the audio quality isn’t affected.
I also 🧡 Judge Clifton Newman who presided over the Alex Murdaugh trial. He is also one of my 🔝 5 favorite judges! This judge 👩🏻‍⚖️ could definitely take a few pointers from these judges👨🏼‍⚖️👨🏾‍⚖️ that’s for sure!🤨

I’ve watched enough true crime to realize that there are a ton of factors in how likely it is you’ll get away with a crime. Competency of the lawyers involved and thoroughness of the detectives are the largest. Location too. For instance, I live in Winnipeg Canada, population 750000. Historically there has been 25 or so murders annually, but the last 3 or 4 years it’s risen to over 50. Obviously with twice the workload there is twice the likelihood that something will be missed. So I see great opportunities in Winnipeg👍
My point, though, is that if I had committed a murder and I saw Detective Sprague assigned to my case I’d just walk into the police station and give up. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The medical examiner, "yeah all of those could have caused it, but the injuries on both sides of her head and to her neck are not what we see in an accidental injury." The defense should have let him be after that-no further questions. They are digging their own grave.
