Quick theory: It might be an art design but I noticed Mary's eye is the same color as the liquid in the IV bag. The first monster you fought was also that same color which makes me think Mary might be turning into one of them. I think one of the notes you read also said that these dead souls could turn into monsters so it's very possible. I am so late and you’ve already finished this but the Tetra part of Reggie’s name is for Tetraodontidae as in pufferfish, he’s a pufferfish. Sorry if you mentioned this later
I did not know that about his name, thanks for telling me! I later saw in Cemetery Mary that his profile picture on the cell phone was of a pufferfish, but I never thought about the scientific name. (SPOILERS) It's kind of funny that I was able to predict the villain by misinterpreting his name lol.
