I haven't heard of anyone. 92 of 102 County Sheriffs said they won't enforce it. The first offense is a misdemeanor and confiscation. The second time is a felony charge.

That's USC 18 Sec 242. One year minimum per count, five years with harm, life/death if anyone was killed. So essentially a few million years in prison minimum if they can show that it was done knowingly in violation of the constitution since every citizen harmed is one count. The feds just don't prosecute it, especially against politicians. California would actually be the easiest one for them to make an example of since they've made virtual carbon copies of laws that have been struck down before, so the knowledge and intent would be undeniable.

So much incredible and solid reporting on the 2-A issue....but for what? This is Illinois, it's over as far as the 2-A is concerned. Constant, never ending lawsuits, legal wrangling to no end. I mean they do elect these fools, time and time again. If anything, each election cycle they elect even more radical politicians. Read PICA again Mr. Kirk, PICA bans the sale or offering for sale to those not on the exception list- so the sale would be illegal prior to the injunction. The sale, and therefore the 72h waiting period can't start until the injunction is put into place.
Yeah I wasn't following on that part either. I'm not sure of anywhere that will sell or ship to Illinois currently for it to be waiting for pickup during the possible injunction.

Again, its been over 20 years living under an AWB with cap restrictions. I hope things will change, but history dictates that local resources aren't such that relief can come from within.
It is 72 hours or until approval comes through. Whichever comes last. My last gun purchase was 5 days before I could pick it up. So I'm sure ISP will drag their feet on approvals to make sure we can't get what we want.

I pay $450/mo for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment, and unfortunately, good luck finding anything remotely close to that anywhere else that is within a 5 hour drive away... You know, while it’s nice to be kept informed, I’m getting to where I’d rather see all the gun rights pages just wait till it’s the final word. And I still don’t understand why it’s so difficult for some to get the short and sweet point of the 2nd amendment. That the right to keep arms shall not be infringed, no matter what they might be. Doesn’t say, except for this or that, and there is also no part that says if something is invented at any time in the future, that isn’t liked by some, that it can be banned. The 2nd amendment isn’t some law that was written 20 years, or even a 100plus years ago. It came about during the creation of our country by men that had just fought a war against a tyrannical government to win their freedom. I’m sure they wanted to make sure that a new tyrannical government couldn’t come along and change the 2nd amendment. Probably why it’s short and to the point. Shall not be infringed should be pretty easy to understand.

Problem with this theory is now the state will know you cwn a semi-automatic rifle because you just bought it during that injunction period. When they inevitably decide to keep them illegal, you will be hard pressed to explain why you didn't declare it on your FOID card.
I don't quite think you understand what the Foid card is, it just states you legally can purchase a firearm and ammo, the state only knows you inquired about a background check is ran, not that you actually bought anything. As well what is purchased isnt tracked by the state or federal, depending on FFL, alot track physical paperwork. Registration is the only way theyll track it and if not legally required to do during the injunction then they have no idea it exists, just you inquired about a background check during that time period
@vxvgloablhawkvxv1231 i think you put too much faith in the government. When purchasing a firearm, you complete ATF paperwork which records the model and serial number of what you purchased. If you think the government doesn't use that paperwork to know what is out there, I think you may be deluding yourself. As far as the FOID card goes, I am very familiar and know that when law enforcement runs your FOID card, there is a line in the return that states whether or not you declared any banned weapons/accessories/etc

Most places only have you fill out the 4473 on paper and then physically file them. So are not handed over to the State nor Federal government unless physically and formally requested to. Also that is delusional thinking that the government knows what you have if you have never registered or yourself have declared you owned something. And if you were to buy something during the injunction, you're not the sharpest tool in the shed if you do register it since you're just straight up telling the state you did something illegal, since after implementation of the law there was no additional grandfathering
This already happened with the first injunction. They are technically illegal because they can't be registered. But almost no one registered their guns anyway so who cares
There is one problem with a few days of freedom in Illinois. Very few if any FFL's are going to have any of the currently banned guns in stock to purchase in the time available 🤷♂️

That's USC 18 Sec 242. One year minimum per count, five years with harm, life/death if anyone was killed. So essentially a few million years in prison minimum if they can show that it was done knowingly in violation of the constitution since every citizen harmed is one count.
The feds just don't prosecute it, especially against politicians. California would actually be the easiest one for them to make an example of since they've made virtual carbon copies of laws that have been struck down before, so the knowledge and intent would be undeniable.

Thank you for the info. A problem not stated is no gun store I am aware of in Illinois has inventory to sell unless it is all sitting in a back room waiting for the Supreme Court to finally reverse these unconstitutional laws.
Second ammendment sports is my local gun store and they have all their regular inventory out but the put a red band around everything you can't buy now in illinois. It pisses me off. I can look at it but I can't buy it.

So much incredible and solid reporting on the 2-A issue....but for what? This is Illinois, it's over as far as the 2-A is concerned. Constant, never ending lawsuits, legal wrangling to no end. All the while public opinion continues to turn against the value of 2-A rights. If the people don't care, and let's face it, the majority don't, in Illinois anyway. I mean they do elect these fools, time and time again. If anything, each election cycle they elect even more radical politicians. The courts, including the SCOTUS isn't going to burn any political capital on an issues the electorate doesn't consider a right anymore, nor even important. It's been very tactfully indoctrinated out of the mainstream value system. The teacher's unions, along with a complicit media have done in American gun culture. And I don't see it coming back sadly. All that said, this, along with Greg Bishop great information & reporting!
Before I left Illinois I thought about it . If I woke up tomorrow and there was a Republican Governor and a Republican General Assembly, it would be 10 to 15 years before they could straighten the state out . in 15 years I will be 74 years old . I would be reluctant to buy anything under a potential "freedom week". The state police would intentionally slow roll your permission slip and you would not be able to claim your property in time.

I was told by my FFL that the paperwork can't start until you actually purchase the firearm, which is a change in Illinois.
And if being transferred from another FFL, can't start paperwork until it arrives.

Our country is under siege with millions of people given amnesty that does not have to follow the Constitution. Living in a rural state where the closest Leo could be 25 to 45 minutes away. Hallelujah to the 2nd amendment. I will not lay down and die in my home where this was not an issue before but cam has become a monster issue for our country. Read PICA again Mr. Kirk, PICA bans the sale or offering for sale to those not on the exception list- so the sale would be illegal prior to the injunction. The sale, and therefore the 72h waiting period can't start until the injunction is put into place.
Yeah I wasn't following on that part either. I'm not sure of anywhere that will sell or ship to Illinois currently for it to be waiting for pickup during the possible injunction.

PLEASE WGL, I humbly ask you to do a segment or show on the Gun Laws in the State of Hawaii. How it has left Hawaiians and the 2a community as legal second class citizens. The hiring of non citizens as Law Enforcement enforcing laws on citizens. Many of whom have bravely served this Awesome Country in the Military. You have no idea how blessed you are to be truly free to keep and bear arms. Yet Hawaii's Constitution is a mirror image of the U.S. Constitution.

@@michaelgiannone2192, I define "significant" as a case that has legs and resources behind it to make its way through the federal courts. Not a new case within the state where it will lose. Again, its been over 20 years living under an AWB with cap restrictions. I hope things will change, but history dictates that local resources aren't such that relief can come from within.
It is 72 hours or until approval comes through. Whichever comes last. My last gun purchase was 5 days before I could pick it up. So I'm sure ISP will drag their feet on approvals to make sure we can't get what we want.
Illinois.. better be staying close to that store for the 3 hours you'll have to grab a gun. Ask us how we know that here in Washington...

HELLinois, is what I call it. I have lived most of my life in the armpit of the West. HELL is what it is in this state.
The ONLY reason I stay is because I haven't found a place to rent, cheaper than what I currently pay... I pay $450/mo for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment, and unfortunately, good luck finding anything remotely close to that anywhere else that is within a 5 hour drive away... I mean sure I can easily get a job transfer, but I also have family here that decided that to buy homes here in this crappy state

Just a little trivia; I bought my very first firearm at GAT guns back in the (fairly) good old days when just looking at a gun wasn't a crime in Illinois. That was many, many moons ago. If I still lived up in that neck of the woods, I would surely stop in and say howdy. Thanks for keeping us updated and helping push the fight.
I prefer to purchase online because it’s cheaper and the prices will be so high in Store. Still would be great to have a second opportunity.
My question is most sellers especially out of state won't sell to Illinois residents so how could you "purchase" one then actually wait for the ruling to transfer even a local shop wouldn't have any in stock to buy from and transfer

You know, while it’s nice to be kept informed, I’m getting to where I’d rather see all the gun rights pages just wait till it’s the final word. And I still don’t understand why it’s so difficult for some to get the short and sweet point of the 2nd amendment. That the right to keep arms shall not be infringed, no matter what they might be. Doesn’t say, except for this or that, and there is also no part that says if something is invented at any time in the future, that isn’t liked by some, that it can be banned. The 2nd amendment isn’t some law that was written 20 years, or even a 100plus years ago. It came about during the creation of our country by men that had just fought a war against a tyrannical government to win their freedom. I’m sure they wanted to make sure that a new tyrannical government couldn’t come along and change the 2nd amendment. Probably why it’s short and to the point. Shall not be infringed should be pretty easy to understand.

Problem with this theory is now the state will know you cwn a semi-automatic rifle because you just bought it during that injunction period. When they inevitably decide to keep them illegal, you will be hard pressed to explain why you didn't declare it on your FOID card.
I don't quite think you understand what the Foid card is, it just states you legally can purchase a firearm and ammo, the state only knows you inquired about a background check is ran, not that you actually bought anything.
As well what is purchased isnt tracked by the state or federal, depending on FFL, alot track physical paperwork. Registration is the only way theyll track it and if not legally required to do during the injunction then they have no idea it exists, just you inquired about a background check during that time period
@vxvgloablhawkvxv1231 i think you put too much faith in the government. When purchasing a firearm, you complete ATF paperwork which records the model and serial number of what you purchased. If you think the government doesn't use that paperwork to know what is out there, I think you may be deluding yourself.
As far as the FOID card goes, I am very familiar and know that when law enforcement runs your FOID card, there is a line in the return that states whether or not you declared any banned weapons/accessories/etc
@@geoffg567 I think you're a delusional boomer who believes the government is competent enough to track all of that. Most places only have you fill out the 4473 on paper and then physically file them. So are not handed over to the State nor Federal government unless physically and formally requested to.
Also that is delusional thinking that the government knows what you have if you have never registered or yourself have declared you owned something. And if you were to buy something during the injunction, you're not the sharpest tool in the shed if you do register it since you're just straight up telling the state you did something illegal, since after implementation of the law there was no additional grandfathering
This already happened with the first injunction. They are technically illegal because they can't be registered. But almost no one registered their guns anyway so who cares
There is one problem with a few days of freedom in Illinois. Very few if any FFL's are going to have any of the currently banned guns in stock to purchase in the time available 🤷♂️
