I have grandparents that are Native American. the second story has a windigo. you do NOT fuck with a windigo. ever... never ends well. at least that's what we were taught.
The kid probably meant burial grounds for aborigines. And being an aboriginal from the Cairns area we do have burial grounds within the rainforest, with neatly placed stones and have stories of tall beings of this description . And as for the wendigo, we do have stories of creatures of the same throughout aboriginal folklore.
I suspect this one was classed as Australian because of the word Cairns in the title, I think the author meant a pile of stones, not the area in Northern QLD called Cairns
Story one mentions a "ranger's cabin." Yeah, nah... Story two says "It was March but still cold." Do Americans even know where Australia is? These stories are 100% US fanfic of Australia.
Yeah, the whole ranger thing threw me too, like since when do we just have ranger cabin's to run to with people in them. Heck no, in Australia, in the outback or bush, at night, you are on your fkn own mate!!! It's not for the faint hearted!
Your name is Warnke.. Ho ly shit you are the first one that I have seen with that name. Where are you from? Sorry I'm just so excited because I'm a Warnke too :D
I don't think the second one is Australian. I mean we don't have Indians we have indigenous people, it's bush not forest and I don't think we have deer. Maybe they used American slang to help people understand? I've also never heard of manhunt, flashlight is a big game to play here
isabel he may have been trying to bridge the gap, having lived in Sydney for three years then coming home to Iowa I found myself having to do a lot of explaining in terms of my new Aussie vocabulary. And yes the words bush and aboriginal were both words I had to explain over and over. So perhaps he Americanized the story, maybe it isn't Aussie who knows. Hope this helped!! Look forward to coming back to aus tho, loved it there! It's been 8 years😭😭
Lui Dexter that's what I was thinking, Aussie slang it's weird and I find I have to explain lots of what I say to my American friends. You should come back, but maybe in winter. It's tooooooo hot right now. We have a heat wave coming and it's gonna go over 40c

How can you forget the legendary bunyip? I once had an encounter with one . Me and my friends were swimming in a billibong one day and my friend said he felt something brush up against him. We ignored him and continued to splash around. But then we heard a scream and a splash and we saw him get pulled underwater. Luckily I had my fishing knife on my and when I saw him resurface again with these weird scaly claws around his torso, I slashed at them. The thing let a out a Deep bellow, like and angry rino, and let go of him. When we swam back to shore, he had a strange bite mark on his arm and lower torso. We both left that billibong and never looked back.
As an Australian, I have had a few family scary stories I would love to share, but they are mostly war time stories. If you want to hear about non human horrors of war, let me know.
the wendigo legend ORIGINATED in canada, northern ontario to be exact! search "wendigo lake" or "cave of the wendigo". same with bigfoot, the legends originated with the natives in BC, canada
Alyssa Black, yeah I thought the same thing. I've never heard anyone refer to aboriginals as Indians, and sometimes we get scalded for saying aboriginal instead of indigenous in school, so I thought saying Indian wouldn't go down well lol
Abraxis729 Well I doubt that's correct, the way I've always heard it is Native Australians are called Indians and Native Australians are Aboriginal or more respectably in some cases indigenous people
Nah , one of the most common terms for the Native Aussies was "Abo's" , short for Aboriginals ( No offense intended to these people ) , I have never heard anyone refer to them as Indians , not ever ( I am in reference to the 2nd story ) the way that story is being told it is using a lot of American terminology in the way he is telling it , Aussies say "the Bush" or in the "scrub" not in the "Woods" , they are just a couple of examples there are many other inconsistencies as well
I had a girlfriend that moved to Australia in 8th grade and she disappeared about 6 months after moving. I've talked to her parents recently and she was never found.
Australia doesnt have Indians or Indian burial grounds. We have Aboriginals, and Aboriginals don't bury their dead like that. there is no such place as gulberg here and we don't have Deer, they are not native to this country. These are obvious made up mistakes.
Lazer-Moon Centaur yes there is west of canberra we do have deer and indians also mean indigenous and there are burial areas of aboriginals tho im not sure if they were covered by rocks
I have a ghost following me. It has follow my dad, neice Erin and know it follwing my oldest. Sara what is what her name is has never caused us any harm. All of us seen her around age 4. She doesn't cause us harm. If anything she helps us out.
This time around I used Spider Eyes, Spiders Web, and Past the Edge that can all be found here - incompetech.com I always use Heavy Industrial Anger 9 for the outro. You can find that here - epidemicsound.com
I can honestly say, given how dangerous Australia can be I've been lucky enough to not have encountered anything too serious. Probably the worst I've seen was coming too close with snakes a few times. Once about 7 years ago when I was walking in our yard (which is on some acerage just outside the town/city) when my dog stopped me just short of a black snake ready to strike; another case was two years ago, kneeling down to work on a bike when an adolescent black snake tried going up my pants (long pants at that moment in time) and just last month I was cutting grass and just about stood on a brown snake. Haven't seen any Coastal Taipans though thankfully which are known to be in the area that I live in.
I went to Australia and a man approached me and asked: "Do you want a vegemite sandwich?" I took the proffered bread and paste offering - bit down on it and....... AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Hi ya! I'm a new subscriber and from Western Australia. Never seen any Monsters, But I've had Ghost encounters and once took a strange drive during an eerie fog on dark country back roads when traveling to the town of Collie late at night.

Kiran McPherson thanks for the info, was a bit confused.
he mentions deer antlers -- no deer in australia except in zoos or maybe farms.
I suspect this one was classed as Australian because of the word Cairns in the title, I think the author meant a pile of stones, not the area in Northern QLD called Cairns
When Australia comes to mind, I think of the many UNIQUE animals that call it home.
