I'm confused. What's difference between steps, algorithms and principles for Neurographica? I don't know where to start when I'm starting!

Are steps the same as algorithms? Or are there many steps within an algorhythm? I find this very confusing. What algorithm are you talking about in this video that has 8 steps?
Any NeuroGraphica algorithm has 8 step from start to finish- that is the rule for drawing any NeuroGraphica composition
