I feel like the people growing up today, like say 24 and under maybe...don't realize just how hard this game is(Or any of the megaman NES games) at all. They were among my favorite with final fantasy and a few others(SNES included on systems I grew up playing, didn't play sega until later on in life...SHINING FORCE 1-2 is amazing!). I beat them all, but it wasn't without 394239285294 tries first. Watching this, for me personally, is watching excellence and perfection. You sir, are a fucking beast, WR or not. You are literally just the fucking absolute best. My respect until I die.
3 for me isn’t too bad. At least until the Doc Robot Stages. That’s where the game gets irritating to me. Then once I hit the Wily stages it’s fine again.
The music in this is tons better than I remember. When you select one of the first 8 bosses.....when they jump on screen before the level starts is just rad as all hell..
First game I ever bought on my lg Verizon flip phone back in 2002-2003..unbelievable how good of a game that was..perfectly near 1:1 recreation of the NES MM3 enjoyed the hell out of it beating it everyday during my 1 hour lunch break during summers. I like to imagine in the WR holderin this game on that particular cellphone setup 😂
I love how the whole time he’s complaining about how he keeps screwing up and then gets a world record😂 Cool to see how the strategy has progressed in this game over the years. When this was new, Nintendo Power told us all to start with Magnet Man 🤷♂️
This game from back in the day was infamously broken. As in shit would get buggy just from normal play. then finding out how to not take damage, just about rape bosses after that, thereincarted, bosses from megan 2 were just broken in bad ways: getting a controller like nes advantage or what ever the famicom one with founded corners, I don't think it had a turbo feature, but it did let you smah the shit out of buttons without as much gamer thumb. All that was well before emulators IIRC. Seeing speedrun people rip it appart? cool!
When you switch from Rush Coil to a different weapon after firing, the bullet takes on that weapon’s properties, even usable as a weakness for a specific boss. This doesn’t do much most of the time, but, the Mega Man clone has one weakness, no invulnerability frames. So, he switches to Top Man’s weapon, which move DOESN’T disappear after it hits its target. Combine that with no invulnerability frames and it does crazy damage every frame
iirc, needle man holds the rush jet, which is really useful in speedruns, but the fastest way to kill him is with the gemini laser, which is held by gemini man. It’s not worth the short amount of time saved by using search snake (snake man) against gemini man to prioritize search snake over needle cannon (needle man) and rush jet. That’s why imo
How is this still WR? There is a glitch you can do to skip the boss fights in the room where there is 8 of them. Well technically you have to do one boss fight and thats it

On 5 now. 4 was ok, not too difficult. 5 seems to have different timing so that's gonna take some getting used to

Pretty sure they use the shadow man weapon because he can hit both Gemini bosses. So if done right you ll be getting twice as many hits in at a time

I think you're mistaken, that skip is in Megaman 5, you have to use the arrow to trigger it.
