Dream on, its a little more complex a problem then that. Trump is right, he doesn't "need" Canada to supply energy...sure it would be a problem if it were cut off suddenly, but its all only a relatively small percentage...the U.S. would manage the change...is part of the larger picture.....Canada is a sitting duck on its own, requires international attention ultimately. This is North America....Canadians are in fact "Americans" in that context already. Problem is, there are plenty of people in Canada who are in favour of becoming a part of the U.S. The trucker convoy is evidence of this....nothing to do with truckers, it was essentially three pro american movements, factions, that exist with followers, like sheep, who already exist, and are already being caught with weapons...and pipe bombs...yes...pipe bombs.....(Couts Alberta).

The understanding of Canadian sovereignty and history is fundamentally lacking. Not only is Canada a fully sovereign nation with a strong constitutional framework, but our history is also marked by resilience, strength, and victory-even in direct conflict with the United States.
Let’s not forget the War of 1812, where Canada, then a British colony defended by Canadian militias, Indigenous allies, and British forces, successfully repelled the United States’ attempts to invade and annex our territory. Despite the U.S. having a larger population and military, Canadian forces burned down the White House in 1814 during the capture of Washington, D.C.-a bold response to American aggression. The war ended with the Treaty of Ghent in 1814, restoring pre-war borders and solidifying what would become Canada’s resilience in defending its sovereignty. In short, Canada won by preserving its land and identity, forcing the United States to abandon its ambitions of annexation.
This legacy of strength continued through Canada’s military history. Our soldiers earned the nickname “Stormtroopers” in World War I for their fierce and effective combat strategies, particularly during the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Canada’s military achievements stand as a testament to our determination and capability. We have never bent the knee to any force, and we never will.
Additionally, Canada is a committed member of NATO, and any attack on us would trigger a collective response under Article 5-an attack on one is an attack on all. Underestimating Canada’s role in global defense alliances is a dangerous oversight.
Moreover, the U.S. spends extensively on its military due to complex global interests and its numerous geopolitical entanglements. Canada, in contrast, does not need to sustain such spending because our diplomatic strategies and international relationships mitigate such threats. This is not neglect but strategic foresight. Our military spending reflects our defense needs, not the demands of global dominance.
On the economic front, criticizing Canada over trade while ignoring the significant U.S. trade deficit with countries like China is misguided. Canada is one of America’s most reliable and fair trading partners. Our mutual economic success is built on cooperation, not exploitation. Canada supplies the United States with over $124 billion worth of crude oil annually, making us the largest foreign supplier of oil and gas to the U.S. This isn’t out of generosity-it’s because the United States needs it.
America relies on Canada for more than 60% of its crude oil imports, a critical supply that keeps its industries running, fuels its transportation systems, and supports its energy security. Without Canada’s stable and secure energy exports, the U.S. would be far more vulnerable to volatile global markets and supply disruptions.
This deep energy partnership isn’t just about trade-it’s about necessity. Canada’s reliable oil and gas resources are essential for the U.S. economy, and that dependency gives Canada significant economic leverage.
Canada is a global leader in technology, innovation, and diplomacy. If you believe Canada is insignificant, perhaps it’s time to educate yourself on our history, our victories, and our place in the world.
By the way- you’re welcome for the lending of our Jordan Peterson and Elon Musk.

@@BLE000 I agree with most of what you said. However your military spending takes into account that the US would never allow anyone to invade your country. Additionally, Jordan Peterson moved here due to the despot in Ottawa named Trudeau and his insistence that JP go to a reeducation camp. Soviet style population control there and you are certainly bright enough to see that. Additionally, Musk is South African and an American by way of Canada. That being said, 2 of the greatest minds "from" Canada chose to call the US home. Musk from a technological necessity because of the US border in the South being whats required to launch rockets. But JP, that was straight up political persecution. Given that Trump was also persecuted by the liberals in our country, we, Canadians and Americans, need to reevaluate the usefulness of liberal politicians.

First, desalination plants are already in California, but desalination is terribly inefficient.
There is saying, it's cheaper to ship in Fiji water bottles from Fiji than desalinate sea water.
If desalination was such a no brainer, why does anyone have droughts?
Second, LA is already using ocean water to fight fire. Canadian CL-415 are using sea water right now to fight LA fire.
