9:04 Taylor only started cursing in her songs after this album. I Did Something Bad was the first song we heard her curse in and i just think it's iconic that the line is "if a man talks sh*t then i owe him nothing"
if you count damn & hell as a swear word then the first time she swears is in cold as you "you never gave a damn thing honey" but if you don't then you're correct she swore in idsb first 🎉
She cusses in her folklore album evermore album, midnight album, tortured poets Department album and causes in her “all too well 10 minute version Taylor’s version from the vault” song other than that, she’s kept her discography pretty clean
The first ever time she wrote with cuss words was on the Red album with All Too Well (10 Minute Version) and I Bet You Think About Me, she just couldn't release them
@ I Know that Einstein. I’m not counting red from 2012 cause she didn’t cuss then. I’m counting the albums and songs she’s written and produced after 2020. There is a spike in cuss words in Taylor’s music from folklore dropping til now. Before that she never cussed except for the occasional “damn” or “hell”.
It’s always so much fun watching hip hop fans listen to Taylor. Her latest album TTPD is a depressing spiral into insanity but the BARS are insane. It’s her best writing. Highly recommend the lyric videos.
Hip hop fans listening to Tay is my new favorite content, the lyrical analysis is always spot on! And I've been introduced to some musicians that I've never heard before, it's a beautiful symbiosis! 😍
LOL so in most reaction video to end game, the person reacting says they don't usually like the features that Future dose but most of the time likes his part in end game. Side note Future has been featured in a ridiculous amount of songs 103...
I was a fan of her in middle school with her Fearless album (when it was released), then fell off her music until recent years. I never paid attention to the lyrics until recently. She's a lyrical genius in my opinion.
Nice things and Look what you made me do are about the Kanye and Kim situation. Im not sure if you know but when Taylor was 19 (or 17) she got a moon man for best video (im pretty sure) and Kanye went up on stage, took the mic and said "Taylor, im real happy for you and im gonna let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time." Later in the night he did apologize and later when Beyonce won an award she asked Taylor up on stage to finish her speech because Taylor left the stage soon after Kanye gave her the mic back. A few years later, Taylor became friends with Kanye and Kim (giving Kanye a second chance). He asked her to present him an award he was getting and she agreed. She announced him and went to stand with Kim (who knew) and Kanye made it seem like it was awkward that Taylor gave him the award. Making it seem like he didn't know about it. The final straw was Kanye was writing Famous and had a line about Taylor in it. The line being 'and i feel like Taylor and me might still have sex, i made that b*tch famous.' Kanye called her (while Kim silently recorded) and asked her what she thought of the line and she was hesitant though the line he read her was 'i feel like Taylor might owe me sex' but said nothing about calling her a b*itch (Taylor references this is the Look what you made me do music video). Taylor said she appreciated him calling to check first and while she wasnt sure she'd think about it and would like to hear the finished song before it goes out. He released the song and when Taylor said she didnt agree to that Kim released an edited version of the call and made it look like Taylor was lying. She called her a snake and Taylors page was spammed with snakes. Because they seemingly had reciepts a lot of people sided with Kim and Kanye. Taylor grew depressed and withdrew from the public for a while. When she returned she released Reputation. About a year or so ago the whole video of the phone call was leaked proving that Taylor was telling the truth.
Instruments: piano (imo her best), acoustic guitar (6 and 12 string), electric guitar, ukulele, banjo. She writes all her songs either on the piano and/or guitar (including all the songs on this album)
So the thing about this album is this was right after all the shit went down with Kayne and Kim and her reputation was bugging shit on. At the time she had just started her relationship with Joe Alwyn and was surprised he would be interested with how everyone was talking about her.
React to her Reputation Stadium Tour. And, another channel just did a full reaction to Rep n didn't get copyrighted. Taylor writes her own music, lol 😆
Taylor Swears continuously in her music there is 18 F bombs in Down bad! Also Taylor writes all her songs!!! And there is reason she blaming everyone she finally had enough in the 1989 era people harassed her in the media and Sl’t and body shamed her so she swore off dating men and then Kanye and Kim betrayed her for the second time she disappeared and deleted all social media and returned a year later with Reputation! As a slam at the haters, the media, and Kanye And Kim K. She has behind the scenes for this album I would check it out!!! Of her writing the album.
This album was born out of a combination of things: her hatred of Kanye West (and Kim K) for the lies he was making up about her, her anger at the media for believing and continuing to spread those lies, as well as call her things like a serial dater and man eater etc, and the beginnings of a new relationship and falling in love. Before this album was released she completely disappeared from the public eye. She deleted all of her social media profiles and really didn’t leave her house, thinking the world hated her and no one wanted to see her anymore. Then, with no explanation, she started posting images of snakes on her profiles and then dropped this album without any promotion.
Great reaction. I agree about what you said at the end. The hard things we go through make the best art when we can constructively take those feelings and channel them. I think Taylor relates to that a lot based on some of her interviews. Writing music seems like her therapy. I think 1989 or Midnights would be a great option next if you want to hear pop. Fearless if you want to give some country a listen. Folklore if you want to hear some gorgeous folk/americana lyricism.
@Christinaling-iv9gh In one of her award acceptance speeches way back, she said she wrote about her personal experiences, then said that line about 5 minutes, just to be funny. I edited my comment to explain that. 🤣
Yeah, she started when she was like, 16 or 17, so her old label didn't like her cussing for the image they wanted for her. She has used explicit language in her music freely but not super prolifically since this album in 2017.
Taylor Swift was never on Disney Channel. She was never on a sitcom like, “That’s So Raven”, “Lizzie McGuire” or “Suite Life Of Zack and Cody or “Wizards of Waverly Place” she was never on Disney Channel like as an actress or a singer, but she did make a cameo in the Hannah Montana movie. She was asked to write a song for Hannah the character to sing called. You’ll Always Find A Way Back Home” and they liked it so much they asked for another song from Taylor so she gave him a song called “Crazier”. Someone informed me Taylor wrote the song when she was 13 way before the movie was even written and made, but I don’t see how that’s relevant to your question “was Taylor Swift ever onDisney Channel?” I think most people assumed Taylor was on Disney Channel because she is good friends with Selena Gomez who was on a Disney Channel sitcom show and at one point was also on good terms with Miley Cyrus who plays Hannah Montana.
She writes her own music, lyrics, produces, plays multiple instruments (piano, guitar and other strings), directs her own music videos…AND hell yeah our girl swears. Listen to The Tortured Poets Department album and the Midnights album.
She has increased her curse word usage since 2020, especially the F-word. But then reviewers criticize her for cussing too much…. lol. See? She can’t win. If she does she’s criticized for it and if she doesn’t she is labeled as a Disney girl. So. I think the jump to TTPD may be too much. I think you need a few steps. You seem to like bangers. She kinda went indie/folk which some people think is a bit boring right now. People who like lyrics get it & think it’s her best work. Mudnights is kinda a mix. Not her best lyrics, it it’s a mix of pop and some dark synth pop. The 3AM edition is the one. Should be 20’songs. Plus hits different & you’re losing me, 22 songs.
her earlier stuff she doesn't really curse (or kept it light/to maybe one). This album was the first time she dropped a "shit" on us, and it's only grown since :P
If you want to hear Mother curse, you should listen to The Tortured Poets Department, her newest album. It's incredible and chock-full of curse words 🤗 Down Bad is my favorite 👽 And your ranking system is TOTALLY LEGIT!!!!
