Ive seen that "first gear getter" put in from the other side, that way it can not come out. That being said, theres a few more steps to the install, and yes, it looks involved. A good thing about working on a mk1 TT is, its like the Boss fight in a video game. You unlock so many levels, so you can take on any car out there. Id like to see a flexible silicon block mould made of your front spoiler. Then create a version made of polyurethane, as its tuff, flexible, and light given the right density. I used some to fix a aftermarket front panel on a friends BMW. He ended up crashing it months later, ripping off the front panel. The fixture housings I reenforced did not brake and all the original ones did. It was good he noticed it and got back to me to say "check this out". Keep the great content coming thick and fast!
HumbleMechanic did a similar bushing job on a customers mk4 r32. What he did and recommended was to super glue it so it doesn’t come out! Love the videos btw, always a big fan of well made build series videos.
I have a 02 225 AMU myself, and i noticed when replacing my passenger side CV axle a coolant line on the backside of engine block to the turbo was weeping due to the (g12 coolants) pink fairy dust that was collecting on it. It looked to be a braided stainless line and when looking for a new one sadly overpriced. I'm looking for a generic VW option atm, but if your losing coolant its kind of a hidden spot you might consider looking. Its ironic every owner of these cars is nonstop wrenching on these cars... 🤑
Oh I bet the snow gets crazy over there! It's really funny how I was working in a tshirt one week and a week later it was a winter coat😆 thank you for the support!
@@HunterDirection oh yes, it can get pretty crazy over here! AWD is a wonderful thing lol. and that same thing happened here, monday and tuesday were 60-70 degrees, but its been 30 degrees ever since! great job on the work, excited to see whats next!!
Love the vids man. My splitter broke the first winter too :( btw you should get some 14x1.5mm stud hangers for the wheels. Makes life so much easier when dealing with lug bolts.
Hey thank you! I really appreciate that and I'm glad you are liking the content. It's pretty funny you mentioned getting wheel hanger in this episode haha. I think you will enjoy one of my new purchases in the episode that followed this one.
@@HunterDirection It is a work in progress, so far I have turbo upgrades with new intercooler and piping, stoptech break upgrade, coil overs, and a handful of other upgrades. I am currently working through some miss-fire issues and suspect it is the ICMs. I am thinking of upgrading the coil packs like you did to yours. How do you like them?
Your 1st gear getter fell off because you installed it from the wrong side, you should unscrew L shaped bracket (1screw where shifter centering spring is coiled) and install the bushing from passenger side of L bracket
Hmm I can definitely try installing it from the other side, but all the guides on their site show it coming in from the driver side. I will definitely give your suggestion a try though! Thank you for the support!
@@HunterDirection I have 1998 audi a3 1.8t 5 speed, shifter box looks same as yours and I have a similar looking bushing installed like how I suggested, it works perfectly and hasn't fallen off after 1 year of use.
@@JustinDrives Just went ahead and swapped it as you suggested for some testing! I will let you know if I run into any issues with it and give you a shutout in the next episode. It makes alot of sense to have it on the inside, so I am surprised their guides/site photos would suggest otherwise. Thank you for the advice and support!
i think I'm about to bite the bullet and get a chassis mount coolerworx shift tower. I had to put a little dab of glue on my first gear getter, been fine since.
I love the look of the coolerworx towers. I'm sure some day the car will go that route haha. The idea of eliminating alot of the failure prone bushing is quite nice! Thank you for the support:)
Something I forgot to write: When you lost the water on top of the mountain and later on, have you taken the change of density of water with changing temperature into account? My golf Mk4 has over 10 L coolant and it "lost" about 1 cm of coolant just because I filled it up in the summer and checked it in October with 20°C colder. Checking with hot engine should be more precise and less calculations, when thinking about it 🤔
By the way that build up behind your rear passenger tire on the bumper is the tube under the fuel cap behind the wheel. You possibly have a hole. It runs behind the passenger rear and up
I am on the east side around the Spokane area! The snow caught almost everyone by surprise haha. I've never been to the vancouver area but it's been on my travel bucket list for a while! Thank you for the support!

I look forward to every one of the B5 videos, another great one.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for the support!
Great videos as a fellow B5 owner there’s always something new to do.
Thanks again

I think it would be cool to see the tt on a track to see how it performs. Anyway this was a nice video.
I absolutely have plans to do that this upcoming summer! I am excited to see how it does. Thank you for the support!
Yea cool video. put some super glue on the bushing lol I have a tt...
I enjoy the vids brother hopefully I can get my hands on a TT someday

Gotta love the TT but it’s a mechanical nightmare

Thank you for the support! I will have to check by that buildup for a leak! I never knew that. Thank you for the advice!
Where in Washington state do you live... I'm in Surrey BC and we have no snow yet... I have an 02 tt 225 myself

Buy a Alfa Romeo and you will get character
I love Alfa's. I really wish there were more you could actually buy in the states. We only ever got a handful haha
Winter came in like a wrecking ball for you too hey?
Haha absolutely! So many issues at the end of the day it was just funny. Thank you for the support!
Don't make me buy you a pair of mechanics gloves for your hands.
Haha 😆 yeah... It's a problem lol. I should really learn to like using gloves. I like the tactile feel too much.
