    I use NBM also. I find that keeping it in my pocket, the oil warms and makes application better. Cause warm oil flows a bit easier and i get better coverage through that roller ball. DONT WEAR THE SWEET ONES OUTSIDE! you will attract bees. unless that's what you want. then go attract those bees girl!

    If I'm heading out and my hands and cuticles are really dry I'll put a dab of hand cream and a couple drops of oil and mix them together to moisturize my hands and cuticles. Makes the oil less oily and the cream more moisturizing. It's a good fix when I'm rushing out the door.

    • @MediocreManis
      @MediocreManis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ooh, I didn't even think about that I'll be trying that!

      @@MediocreManis I don't know why, but I just thought of this, I also rub my palms on a towel to get rid of most of the cream. (When I'm needing to touch stuff, like my car, remote, whatever) Really, it's not your palms that need hydration usually. (Not mine anyways)

    I agree, I don’t like super oily swatches! My nails are SO much healthier when I consistently use oil. Currently using CND Solar oil, and just ordered Cuccio oil in milk & honey scent. Thank you for this video, super informative. Will give some of your suggestions a try❣️

    I got a big bottle of plain argan oil like yours from Ulta, and a refillable watercolor brush pen from an art supply store and I just refill it over and over. It works pretty well but I need to get better at consistency.

    My nailcare has amped up this year with my indie nailpolish deep dive. Gloves when doing the dishes, cuticle creme and oil. And it's paying off! Yay🥳. I'm actually using the ordinary 100% squalene oil since I dont't particularly like it on my face and it works great.

    I just use Jojoba oil, usually an organic one. You can get it at most health food stores or on Amazon. Usually it is unscented, so you won't get that luxury experience, but it is inexpensive compared to most nail oils. I also use it as a face cleanser, and maybe a couple of drops on the ends of my hair before a shower. You can apply it to elbows and knees and heels; it just seems to work well for multiple purposes.
    I use it with a nail pen on my cuticles many times a day. The nail pens are really hard to refill, but if you keep trying it eventually gets pretty easy. Your bottle idea seems kinda genius!
    My cuticles are in great shape, although it took a couple of months to get here. That could be because I work as a gardener/landscaper and my hands can get pretty trashed. You can never have too many gloves!

    Love the Cuticle Buddy oil; the fragrances are amazing, the bottles and holders are so pretty, and I love how they apply. Other faves are Anchor & Heart, Cuccio, CND, and Burts Bees cuticle cream. I'd like to try Terra Beauty Bar oil; that bottle and those flowers got me, lol, but I also like that it's multipurpose. TFS!

    This is something I need to get into, especially on my toes. I work with paper all day, so there’s lotion refresh all day long for my hands. You mentioned a couple ingredients I’m familiar with (not a specialist, just like to research before using new things). Lavender has antiseptic and anti fungal properties, so great for skin as long as you are not allergic. Love your nail color, both the oil swatches and what’s on in the video.

    fyi: if you apply nail cuticle oil all around your nail without rubbing it in before you use your nail polish remover it help's significantly to protect them from drying out due to the acetone! ;-)

    I love cuticle oil! I have tons of cuticle oil. My main requirement is that it is jojoba oil based. I currently have Simply Pure, Cuticle Buddy (I have 11 of the current selection), KNI Beauty and Bath, Anchor and Heart Vitamin Sea, Unicorn Magic-Indie Brand, and Stella Chroma-also an indie brand in rotation. I also have and use from time to time Orly Argan Oil, Orly Breathable, Cuticle Candi-Indie Brand, Gelish Nourish, Nail Aid, Glisten and Glow, CND Solar, California Mango, Sally Hansen Vitamin E, Sally Hansen Color Therapy, and Color Club. I also have my own mix which I use periodically...Yes, I have a nail oil addiction and don't apologize for it...LOL!

    I like Jojoba oil, Bliss is good. I also like OPI cuticle oil. But the one I will consistently use is Olive and June cuticle serum, mostly because it comes in these great little pens and you can just swatch it in at a moments notice. I have these pens in almost every room in my house, and in my purse, so I am really good at using them several times a day. At night I rub down my cuticles with Hard as Hoof, and my hands in Neutrogena hand cream.

I picked up 4 to meet free shipping, I keep one tied to my purse and ever put it on while driving woops I mean while stopped at a red light wink wink and one on the table next to my chair. Happy with both that I tried so far, I really enjoyed this video thank you.

    My favourite nail oil is from Mineral Fusion. It's a mixture of safflower oil and sunflower oil, so it's safe for anyone with a sensitivity to nuts. It only comes in a bottle with a brush, but portability isn't really important for me, so that's ok. The bottle is .33 oz, and is $8.99 on their website, and I find that pretty affordable. Mineral Fusion also makes my favourite topcoat.

    I love Cuccio's Milk and Honey and it is SO CHEAP, but I think I'm going to switch to filling applicator pens with Jojoba and vitamin E when I finish it. Also, I really wish I could get into coconut oil, but it makes me break out with eczema! Such a shame...

    I just dip a finger into a wide-mouthed travel bottle of black seed oil and swipe it onto my cuticles, rubbing it in enough to keep it from sliding around. Leave it on. Reapply (sometimes) after washing hands. That exfoliates all that “dusty” dead skin and keeps mine looking clean. So cheap, no special containers, no special brands. I wish I’d discovered black seed oil when I was a child! Could have saved so much $ and ugly cuticles. Simple is best.

    Question for everyone: Have you ever used a cuticle oil that actually dried your skin out? (Doing the opposite of what it's meant to do)
    I've experienced this a few times & it's hugely confusing - especially when it's a products that works well for other people.
    CND Solar oil was the first to dry out my skin (SO confusing!) but I've had it happen with a few mainstream & indie products in oil form, as well as a few butters & balms.
    I'm trying to figure out if this is some kind of dermatological reaction (although usually I'd expect burning/Redness - not dry skin) or if this is something that does happen to other people.
    I hate how many products I end up wasting by trying new oils/balms, having them not work for me.
    I always know within a few days if a product will be drying, but I force myself to use it for a week because I just want it to work so bad! 😂 (I know, I know - Einstein was right! 🤦‍♀️)
    Not to mention how much money I waste because I have no one to pass these products onto (Covid times means open products are treated like poision.. & I totally understand)
    I always go back to unscented Bliss kiss oil because it's the only one I can rely on to actually do the job.
    This was meant to be a super short research gathering question but I'm just not capable of being succinct 🤷‍♀️
    Tysm for any feedback! 💕

      @MediocreManis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had this happen to me with nail oil, but I have had it happen with lip balms in the past! I think some of it might just be our own personal body chemistry reacting with things in the product because some of the lip balms I used and hates, I knew of other people loving and saying were mega hydrating!

    • @malinn8429

      Hi👋
      I've had that with my face, and have really had to search for what works for me. Let's see if my amateur analysis for my skin might ring true to you too; it's a big difference beetween being dehydrated or dry. I'm dehydrated. And I find that some cremes and oils just handle dryness, not dehydration. And of I get the wrong one it's b-a-d. My hands and nailbeds are not as sensitive to it as my face but sometimes I use my hydrating serumes on my hands too. Perks them up and helps the regular cremes and oils work better.
      Longwinded answer... as you can tell I've done some searching...Hope you find this useful!
