MY DUDE. This was the video I needed to see. Tried disassembling and cleaning the buttons already, and just like you said, little parts flew out everywhere. Not worth it. I bought the entire control unit used on eBay for about $65 and was struggling with getting those pull cables out until I watched this. Twisted like you said, came right out, and I'm back in business. Did an easy $350+ dealer repair for $65 and a few hours! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much! You cannot know how miserable I've been with my ac unit only blowing out on low. Turn it to 4 and the ac turned off. I replaced the resistor switch but that didn't fix. Told I needed the HAVC unit replaced lowest quote $600.00! You saved me almost $400. I bought the unit after watching you video and put it in myself! Sure I was slow but I bungee corded the radio out of my way and had glove box off that allowed me to reach my hand into the back for the white door linkage. Now I have low to high cold air blowing in this hot Florida weather.
resister needs to be replaced. it's behind the gas pedal near the centre console. hard to get too but you can do it yourself with a tiny ratchet and it's a cheap fix. tell tale sign is that it work on high but not low settings.
Did you have any other electrical issues? Mine the defrost quit and the AC was sporadic. Tried cleaning the buttons. No go. Also have issues with the radio kicking off after going from max vent to a lower setting, and the engine not starting if the vent is on, but fine when vent is off.
@@SCOPELITUS Turns out my battery was nearing end of life, and some of the other issues have disappeared now that I replaced it. I still can't get the buttons to work (even after cleaning them), but alas, wondering if it's the unit itself.
Ok. Thanks for helping me get them out. Now, how do I get them back in? There’s little room to work. I put the wire in its hole then tried to use plier to pull the plastic back into the bracket but it won’t move. Help!!!

Why don’t the switch for blower only blow on high.1-3 nothing comes out. Only blow on 4 the highest switch????

The defrost and AC button didn't work but that was all. No other issues

Should be the same. Twist 90 degree and pull

Adjust the control knobs until the cable pulls it in
