    Man, I' nejoying your videos. Also, love the fact that you bought Neves and Silva (I'm a Benfica fan)! I would like to see youtalk about Roles conflicts/beneficts (example, like Winger and Wingback do conflict, etc).

      How on earth do Benfica keep coming out with such great talent every year? It's insane, what a talent factory you guys have :)
      And, thank you for the feedback! I'll try and add a bit more on that when I move up to wide mid/wide attackers; needed to set the stage a bit with the deeper roles first.

      @@theavgdad State of the Art factory lol I saw you talk about wingers with wing backs, but I guess there's more situations. Another example: when I play BPD and a DLP in front of him, one of them don't play well. Does that make sense?

      @@HorusOliveira I get you, yeah! MEZ and IW can also be a little bit tricky at times, but FM24 does those tight space combos much better than previous versions

    This video was soooo good! I understood a lot about wide defenders a lot. I like how you take the time and explain every detail slowly, calmly and precisely unlike running through every position quickly. Keep up the good work bro!

    After watching your video (excellent btw) I tried switching a WB to FB to test crossing and movement. While it's true that a FB on attack will cross without trying to beat the last man, positioning in defence is also different. For me it breaks the gegen press tactics. A FB will press much more later, so it will invite opposing wide players deep into my half, so it's a no-no for me. I ended up with a WB on support with cross more and get forward instead of FB on attack.

    • @theavgdad
      @theavgdad  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      true, but remember that you can increase pressing intensity via PI, which will get him further out of his position to press. Might help if you prefer FBa attacking behaviour

    Not sure what the difference between a wing back and a complete wing back is from this, they seem to do the same thing.

      Hey! No, I don't actually stream, but maybe one day it opens up as a possibility :) between avgdad duties and the day job it's currently hard to find a regular free time slot

  • @Eidenhoek

    Y'know what'd be a good ideathing? If the game/soccer/whatever would allow us to have some sort of simulation where the team would show the "typical" behavior of the tactic given instructions or something, so that you wouldn't have to use a friendly to kind of scout out your own issues.

    • @theavgdad
      @theavgdad  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed, maybe you should hit the FM forums and suggest this sort of thing? I dare say the Unreal Engine will unlock all sorts of possibilities

    I have a question. Does SV on support, Box to box, Mezzala or WB on support occupy the one of the 5 channels while attacking as a primary attacking threat? Is it possible to just support the half-channel attacker IF with box to box or SV on support on that side of the pitch?
    Also with the new positional play changes, they say that some roles move into AM slot from DM or CM slot. How many players can go into AM slot without drifting half-space? Can I have 2 player on the center channel horizontally?

    • @theavgdad
      @theavgdad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great set of questions there. To my knowledge FM allows a max of 3 players in a single channel, which you'll see when you set up formations too (max 3 CM, CB, AM, CF). So yeah, you can have 2 or even 3 in the center horizontally for sure. They may drift a bit, but they won't really get all the way out to the half space unless you want that and instruct them to.
      I wouldn't say any of those roles in support duty are primary attackers, you'll get plenty of output from them but all with a late run. Support duty is basically that, stick around for possession and then when the ball gets to the byline/box, then arrive. But you can again add instructions like get further forward etc to tweak. As for supporting an IF, absolutely - I use a BBM to push up with my IFa and there's some great interplay. If you want more, again go for PIs, get forward, stay wider etc

      hahah, I only tried FM mobile once a few years ago. Is it very different now? I would have thought the same concepts would still apply.

    • @CaraVerde
      @CaraVerde ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theavgdad I wouldn't know. I've played this year's because I'm on Netflix subs already, so it's blasphemy for me if I don't play one of my most favorite games basically for free 🤣.
      The concept is virtually similar with the original version, with one big disadvantage: no player instructions at all. The online descriptions are also very minimal and very abstract, like old FMs (I remember the old days when we used to not know exactly the difference between AM & TQ because their descriptions were too similar, for example).
      Guide like yours, would help mobile players a lot, because of its concreteness (if it's a real word). That way players could understand "this would shoot more", "that would prefer pass than shoot", "this would play safer by lobbing the ball forward", "that would play safer by sending the ball quickly to the nearest player", etc. Especially when the FMM communities (understandably) are not too active compared to the main version's.

    If the IWBs takes up a DM position, and an IFB goes to central defence, where exactly does a IWBd go?
    Sorry if I missed this in the video - I don't think I did, anyway

    • @theavgdad
      @theavgdad  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      no, good point, and I may have misspoken slightly. IWBs goes DM to start but can push up like a DMs, even getting to CMs kinda position. IWBd is more like a DMd, sticking pretty deep

    whats the diference between the WB atack and the CWB atack?

    • @theavgdad
      @theavgdad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the main difference is movement, WBa looks more strictly like the attacking one in the video thumbnail but CWB roams about a bit more. CWB is also on a higher mentality, so he might try crazy stuff, and come back later on defense
