Love your vids Allan I actually have the same jet ski Lol it's good to see more jet ski fishing Videos because it is a growing sport. Love your work keep it up
Thanks heaps Pita. I have made it an absolute goal of the channel to target many different forms of fishing so it doesn't get repetitive. A lot of channels show the same stuff over and over again. I agree with you that fishing from a Jet Ski is rapidly growing in popularity. The fish pro 2020 is an excellent watercraft, I really rate them. Im sure you will have many enjoyable years ahead with it. What fish do you generally target on it ?
It sure was, it was so nice when the winds were down you could spot squid and site cast for them which was amazing. Was awesome drifting over them and whipping between spots.
100% its so sad to see the devastating effect of the fires, hard to grasp when you see all the footage on TV. Lets hope some of the minor rain had this morning helped in some way.
the 2020 model fix the Sonar side view problem? and how bad is the water in the engine after use i hear that gets a lot of water in the engine box is that true? thanks!
I have taken the new fish pro out quite a few times now, but in total prob only done about 10 hours of travelling with it. I dont know about others but I haven't had any water in the engine. And that's going out in 30 knot winds twice. I know Gramin were working on some updates. ( software update to include some fixes, and have come out with a new echomap sounder in the last 2 months. I mainly have a split screen with downscan and traditional 2d sonar. ill have a fiddle with side view im out next time and let you know.
I've watched a few jet skie fishing videos on here, not really my cup of tea but still i can think of many areas i would and could use one for offshore fishing, 🤔hmm wonder how you would fit a barrel tuna in that box on it lol. Might have some footage after the comp on aus day weekend if i remember to turn the cam on lol
Yeah now that would be something trying to land a barrel tuna on a jet ski. Ive seen a few meter plus Mulloway caught on them but nothing bigger. Imagine a massive Tuna.
@@fishingmad yeah im not sure what the largest tuna landed on a kayak is but the guys i know personally have caught many 30kg an over im yet to score lol some have caught marlin, wahoo, cobia, Spanish and spotted Mackerel, mahi mahi, kingfish and not to mention sharks which I've caught my fair share lol
Yeah that would be amazing. A 30kg tuna would be great fun. Ive been aiming for ages to head up to Portland and on the right conditions try trolling some big skirts and lures and seeing what happens.
Thanks Dwayne, really appreciate the positive comments. Yeah ive been meaning to get back out to western Port and get a few videos done there. Hopefully I can schedule that in soon. Plenty of cool content in progress so stay tuned. Thanks
I dont doubt that kayak fishing is a joy, ive never done it, but i would imaging it being very relaxing, and having the benefit of a workout, But i do see the danger in kayaking deep off shore along with the act of fishing, i mean lets face it, your pretty much laying down in the water in a plastic bottle cap. Any large predatory fish can easily make short work of a person in a kayak, and year after year we do find growing incidents of kayakers being attaked by sharks. For my ide prefer this Sea-doo Fish Pro all day. its also a small sea vessel but one that far better cut for dealing with large waves and multiple forms of incidents. im not even certain if a jetski can sink. and im am sure they naturally upright themselves, so theyre far safer a device than a kayak. i like the seating position, the fact youcan stand and walk around them. all the gear they can carry and the speed at which you can get about. even carry extra tanks of fuel. if venturing out very far. such a large size jetski is even better than many small sized boats when you think about it. dont have to worry about a jet ski taking on water. its only problem its its exposure to the sun,
Yeah all very good points. High end kayaks are made from polyurethane which is just a thin type of plastic. So yes it can be dangerous for a whole range of issues. I enjoy the exercise component and catching when that low to the water is very cool. I try not to go to far offshore just incase. Jet skis are awesome fun, probably safer and you can zip to spots in no time. All very good points thanks for the comment.
Good day, i just bought myself a 2020 fishpro, just wondering if your gps comes with the clearvu feature as mine doesn't but the garmin website says it does. Cheers
I love mine. Question, does anyone have solution for ‘listing’ to the left issue I have? Believe Seadoo know about it. At speeds, its ok but lower speed or fishing in rough weather, its painful as have to lean to right if 35km or thereabouts and if I fish off left side in rough weather, gathers SO much water. It’s not a deal breaker but its a lot of money for something not right
fishingmad That would be great. I still love it, but have mentioned to a few friends looking to buy one as my major gripe. The other day, was in rougher seas (fishing) and sitting on left side with feet on side wall and within 30minutes, had 5 litres of water in the ski. When the ski is turned 180degrees and I sit the same way on the right side, less than a litre. Also, you can see it leaning to the left when at the boat ramp and very noticeable. I fixed it with a 12kg sand bag (water proof) on the right footwell, but damn, its a lot of money for something that doesn’t sit right. Any help would be so grateful as in rougher weather coming home from fishing, I hate having to lean my body to the right to get the ski to a ‘centre’ position. Sea Doo. Help.
fishingmad Oh, I know its sounds like I’m moaning a little, but when out for 3-4hrs fishing, it’s somewhat annoying you can’t put your feet in the foot wells as so much water. Seadoo. If at all possible, if 2021/2022 model could have draining side wells, I would sell my 2020 in a heartbeat. Also, don’t make it any more powerful. 170hp is plenty. Just make it more fuel efficient.
No problems, its a very good point. Its not easy to get answers at the moment as many of the retail outlets are offline due to the Corona outbreak. Bear with me, hopefully will get some answers for you. Also feel free to contact Melbourne Seadoo directly www.melbourneseadoo.com.au/contact they have a customer support desk that might be able to help you over the phone or email
Excellent video as usual Allan. Must be expensive to have one of these pwc. How much did you spend on it? Also, whereabouts is this place where you’re squidding?
I wish, this isn't my jet ski, I help Melbourne Sea-doo out with local events so they let me borrow the Fish pro on occasions. Its a pretty cool water craft. This was taken out near Clifton Springs. Was hoping to also target whiting that day but the winds picked up earlier then expected. Thanks for the positive comment.
@@fishingmad Perhaps one day you'll have one of your own soon.....😎😎. Always a pleasure watching your videos. Looking forward for your next video. Keep up the good work 👏👍👍
Awesome video. I've been looking to get a kayak to go squid fishing around altona/geelong area as I live in western Melbourne. Do you think a 2.8m-3m kayak would hold up alright in the conditions youre squidding in in these areas? Keep it up mate love tuning in
Thanks Anthony, I really appreciate the positive comments. What model kayak were you thinking of then I can give you a proper response and let you know for sure. ( Kayak fishing around Geelong and Altona was is amazing )
@@fishingmad I'm just looking for something second hand around 3m whether it be sit in or on because they're the most affordable within my price range. I also do a bit of river camping so i feel like that size would be good for that kind of fishing as well. Not looking at anything super specific at the moment but something like that is what Im looking at.
@@Anth370 don't buy a 3m kayak for bay fishing, they are ok for protected waters like rivers but become dangerous in open waters like bays and lakes, look around for a 4m+ kayak, you can pick them up pretty cheap on gumtree Facebook buy and sell, im a kayak fisherman based in clifton springs and travel all over fishing inshore and offshore don't limit yourself to a small kayak👍
Thanks Peter thats a great response. I was curious to what model Antony was looking at so I could give him some specific things to look for. My previous kayak was a Native slayer 10 that was 3 meters and really stable, but you are right most of the stable ones are generally 4 plus meters.
Nice octpus friend. Please be safe time. I see be fire on tv of aussie lands. Crazy friend they use navy boys and army for help..sad for aussie boys. not worry army is strong and good can fight...I take a strong drinks for you
Thank you kindly Mikhail. Yeah its pretty tough in Australia at the moment, rural Victoria, NSW and SA are in crisis with fires. Its a very sad situation. I have some friends and family not to far away from them so have been watching the news closely. Thanks again.

Productive fishing area to hook up every cast. Awesome!
Thank you !!
Now that's mobile fishing! Lovely clear water around there. Squid heaven.

Wish we could take that water over to Eastern Victoria and NSW somehow. And Tassie, SA and WA too.

Looks like it’s real fun out there on the seadoo. They look so cool.
Thanks Jared, yeah there pretty awesome watercraft's. Its great to keep finding different ways to fish.

Thanks Alan, yeah I went to Geelong last Monday and picked up some nice king George whiting, pinkies and flathead.
Fantastic, thats great. I've been hanging to take the kayak down around there again soon.
Yeah, the bigger pinkies and the whiting are starting to come through.
Thank goodness, I cant escape the tiny pinkies at the moment. Lost count how many under 30cm i caught a few days ago.
