I moved from London to Geelong and am trying to find a new hobby. I have been watching your videos all week trying to understand the basics. Very keen on the soaring gliders. And then I recognized the location on your older videos!! Its a shame I didn't figure this out a little bit earlier as I could have bought some of your planes that you sold for your move. Thanks for the entertainment and information!
Can you recommend any local hobby shops that would sell this one around Geelong? Us in Aus don’t seem to be treated to good banggood prices from what I can tell! 😢
Try Tates Toy Kingdom, looks like they don't stock it but they might if you ask. Otherwise google will show where else. Remember it's the PrimeRC T1400 here.
Mate, the best Top Rc Plane still has to be the Lightning 1500. I remember your vid from 100 years ago back in the old G-long swamp. But agreed, great style for beginners and No Glue required. Wish my Bix 1.1 had that much bay area... And pull the motor,, extend it,, bigger motor,, bigger prop,, you know you want to.. Catch,, Cheers.
A great revisit to a wonderful glider/soarer. This made be go back and rewatch a couple of your "Skysurfer X9" videos, and the enthusiasm you shared when first discovering this great design. Being around for a while, there are many good mods, and 3d print options. eg: a 3d-printed canopy could provide FPV option for those wanting, or alternative motor mounts, etc. Great to see this model has been re-released!
Hey Andrew I wanted to say thank you so much for all the help and truly taught me how to get them flying nice. And do to the insane new laws in the us it makes getting in any airtime very difficult.
Hi, not been watching for a year or so, too busy flying! I have progressed a bit but still love flying the "Bixler" types. This one seems to be the way to go in future when needed. Here in the UK the price through Bangood works out a bit excessive nowadays at around £170 with delivery, and then a possibility of import duty on top. Fortunately it can be got from UK shops at around £100. It seems the days of cheap larg-ish RC models direct from China are over
Hello Mister. First, thank you very much for all your videos from which I learn so much. I was wondering about one thing. I thought I should start with Fpv planes again. About 15 years since the last time. 😅😅 Back then everything was analog, with bad pictures in the goggles. (Fatshark V2) So I'm wondering if I should go for the Dji o3 unit or the Walksnail. Best regards Geir L Larsen from Norway
Definitely worth going to HD FPV. I have only used the DJI V1 goggles and original air units so far but they are still stunning quality. I will try some Walksnail gear soon.
Thank you very much Mister, I will wait until you have tested Walksnail. Very hard to decide. There is also $1,500 I will spend on fpv equipment. Regards Geir
Hey Andrew, my motor has dropped down so I need to fix it as it's nicking the boom. I heard in your video you'd done a replacement on an earlier model. I assume separating the fuselage is the only way? Any tips would be great, thanks in advance.👍
How do you rate / compare this to the Sky Surfer X8 1480mm you did a couple of videos you did 2 years ago. The Sky Surfer X8 is quite a bit more affordable. Reference, I am a simi novice flyer who had a Sky Surfer probably 20 years ago and haven't flown in years.
@@AndrewNewton crashes on launch. I've only tried twice. Yes of course all surfaces are flat and are correctly orinted as far as I can tell. I also have an A280 Mustang EPP - that was doing the same thing but I discovered the motor bracket wasnt secured properly so the motor would pull out to the right on take off. Once i fixed that I was able to launch it. I've had quite a few good flights out of it. I have two great helicopters that still fly - never crashed. A flywing FW450 V3 and a Goosky S2.
Good review Andrew, using my Phoenix 2000 a lot from your recommendations, also liked the dobro! Im a pedal steel guitarist, check my utube. Cheers mate
A great model plane that seems impossible to improve. Thanks for showing this latest offering of the classic Sky Surfer design.

Ah, missed me by 2 years. Great spots to fly around Geelong.

Wow! That has tremendous slow flight capability. Very impressive!
Yes it really can float
Thank You for your recommendations and reviews! This has always been a reliable "Go to" channel 👍🏼
Happy to hear that!
Loving the POV from the back and side view
Me too, the best viewpoints
Reminds me of the Multiplex surfer that has been out for over 20 years. It had a brushed motor at the time. It was fun to slope soar.
Very relaxing plane to fly. Cheers Andrew 😊
Looks just like the -140 sky surfer. Which was really nice until I began thinking I could fly. 😂
Haha, sounds like there is a story there
Thanks Andrew, like such easy going planes myself. 👍💪✌
Yes it's a delight to fly

Great to hear JC. Hope you can find ways to get around the dumb restrictions.
Thanks for an interesting informations!
Any time!

I like the new Boxer Crush transmitter, but what ELRS receiver are you using in the model?
In the video
What has happened to the Phoenix Ranger 1600 ?
Wasn't that the best beginner plane for quite a long time or did I miss that or mix it up ?
Mis-remembered maybe. It's a great plane but a bit big and heavy for beginners.

Hi Brett. This video shows my motor mount mods th-cam.com/video/fQ2OmLo8c0o/w-d-xo.html
@@AndrewNewton thx mate, that worked a treat. Cut out the mount, made a new one and she is good to go!!
Hi Andrew, but the T1400 is a copy 1:1 of the SkySurfer X9 that you reviewed 5 year ago, i mean.
Not a copy, it's exactly the same model sold under different names

I like the T1400 but they are so close it doesn't matter. Go for the more affordable option.
Is this Portland or somewhere along the coast in victoria? i live in vic. I bought the J6108 Huntsman but i've never flown it. just crashes each time.
I'm further west, in SA. Why is it crashing? That should be a nice flier. Have you got the control surfaces moving in the correct direction?

Hinge repair needed right out of the box, easy fix I guess
Too common unfortunately, but very easy repair.
Where is this slope
Secret location in SA
I prefer the HK Bix3 for a lot less Money shipped to Canada. The TopRC T140 costs $312.08 USD shipped to Canada
Ouch! Will take a look at the bix 3.. cheers 🇨🇦
That's crazy. US$125 (A$180) from hobby shops in Australia
i got that one lol
Ok but i prefer the volantex ranger 2 mtr fantastic plane and a lot cheaper.
Yes that is a fine model.

Talented! I have checked out your channel previously.
Do you have a contact Facebook? I have the same aircraft.
